Sunday ended in agonizing fashion for Patrick Cantlay, as he lost in a playoff to Lucas Glover at the FedEx St. Jude Championship. But Cantlay has a lot to look forward to this week, as he will look to three-peat at the BMW Championship at Olympia Fields Country Club in Olympia Fields, Illinois.
While it was a disappointing finish for Cantlay, he did move from 13th to fifth in the FedEx Cup Standings. And if he can own this tournament for a third straight year, he will enter the Tour Championship as a leading contender to win the FedEx Cup for the second time in three years.
Glover, meanwhile, has had an extraordinary two-week stretch. Entering the Wyndham Championship, his only win in over a dozen years was over two years ago, and he was 112th in the FedEx Cup standings and facing a tall order to even reach the top 70 cutoff for the FedEx Cup Playoffs.
After jumping from 112th to 49th with his Wyndham Championship win, Glover is now fourth in the FedEx Cup standings going into the BMW Championship.
As should be expected, Cantlay is among the favorites to win this week, while Glover has exponentially shorter odds than anyone would have given him this time two weeks ago.

BMW Championship Predictions and Picks
Tournament Winner Pick: Patrick Cantlay (+1000)
Cantlay was the winner pick for the FedEx St. Jude Championship, and he very nearly came through after shooting a six-under 64 on Sunday.
His performance in Memphis only strengthens this pick, as he is coming off of his best finish in a FedEx Cup playoffs opener.
This tournament has been quite the happy hunting ground for Cantlay, and it should continue to be this year. He has posted consecutive top-five finishes only twice this season, but he is a strong pick for all of the things this week.

Other Tournament Picks
Corey Conners to finish in the top 20 (-110)
Entering the FedEx St. Jude Championship, Conners had only three top-ten finishes this season. But he posted his second-best finish of the season–he won the Valero Texas Open–at TPC Southwind, thanks to a six-under 29 on the back nine on Sunday.
In last year’s BMW Championship, Conners was one shot out of the lead after the first two rounds but went only 71-69 in the final two rounds to finish four shots behind Cantlay.
Still, he finished tied for fifth behind Cantlay, Scott Stallings, Xander Schauffele, and Scottie Scheffler. This isn’t one of my favorite value picks for this week (Cantlay to finish in the top ten is), but it is one of them.
Cam Davis to finish in the top 20 (+100)
This isn’t my favorite value pick either, but it is also one of them.
Like Conners, Davis also finished four shots out of the lead and tied for sixth at the FedEx St. Jude Championship. It was his third consecutive top-ten finish, following a tie for tenth at the 3M Open and a tie for seventh at the Wyndham Championship.
With his sixth top ten of the season, Davis jumped from 62nd to 45th in the FedEx Cup standings. He is 353 points out of 29th and 30th (currently occupied by Chris Kirk and Sam Burns), so he isn’t in the most favorable of positions.
But his success over the previous three weeks has given him a chance, and that play should continue this week.
Lucas Glover to finish in the top 10 (+240)
A few weeks ago, Glover wouldn’t have even been in the BMW Championship field, much less a top pick to finish well there.
Will he sizzle again this week, or will he look like a mortal again?
Based on his recent form, the former is more likely. He missed the cut at the 3M Open, but he now has five top-six finishes in his last six tournaments. In the words of Jim Cramer, “BUY, BUY, BUY!”
Sungjae Im to finish in the top 10 (+230)
Im missed five cuts in nine tournaments prior to the Wyndham Championship but righted the ship a bit with a 14th-place finish there.
That appears to have given him a little boost, as he was another golfer in the group that finished tied for sixth.
Im moved from 32nd to 28th in the FedEx Cup standings with that finish, but while he is currently in line to make the Tour Championship field, he needs to do his part to solidify that place this week.
Last year, he finished tied for 15th in the BMW Championship. Repeating that finish would likely lock down a Tour Championship spot, but I like his chances to go a bit beyond that.
