Following a wild Wyndham Championship finish, the three-week race to be named 2024 FedEx Cup champion is now here. The furious fight to the finish gets underway this week in Memphis, home of the FedEx St. Jude Championship at TPC Southwind.
Everyone in the field will be chasing Scottie Scheffler, who enters the FedEx Cup Playoffs with a massive lead atop the points standings.
A little over a week ago, Scheffler added Olympic gold medalist to his list of impressive achievements this year, and he will be expected to add FedEx Cup champion to that list in a few weeks’ time at the TOUR Championship.
He and Xander Schauffele, who appeared headed for a second straight Olympic gold until things fell apart in the final round at Le Golf National, are well out ahead of the field atop the points standings entering the playoffs.
- Scottie Scheffler – 5993
- Xander Schauffele – 4057
- Rory McIlroy – 2545
- Collin Morikawa – 2456
- Wyndham Clark – 2154
- Ludvig Aberg – 2092
- Sahith Theegala – 2037
- Hideki Matsuyama – 1899
- Sungjae Im – 1896
- Shane Lowry – 1867
Scheffler and Schauffele also sit atop the FedEx St. Jude Championship winner odds, with Rory McIlroy and Collin Morikawa rounding out the top four at BetOnline, which has a bevy of betting markets for the playoff opener.

FedEx St. Jude Championship Predictions & Picks
FedEx St. Jude Championship Winner Prediction & Pick: Xander Schauffele (+900)
Only once in FedEx Cup Playoffs history has the eventual champion won the opening event. That was in 2020, when Dustin Johnson won the Northern Trust and went on to win the TOUR Championship after entering the playoffs 15th in the standings.
So, winning this week may not be the best of omens for Schauffele. But after his hopes went up in smoke down the home stretch at the Olympics, I’m optimistic that he will come out ready to hit the right notes in Memphis.
Collin Morikawa to finish in the top 10 (+120)
Morikawa finished tied for 13th at last year’s FedEx St. Jude Championship and tied for fifth the year prior. Look for him to have another strong week at TPC Southwind.
Hideki Matsuyama to finish in the top 20 (+100)
Matsuyama tied for 16th in last year’s FedEx St. Jude Championship, and he is coming off of a bronze-winning performance at the Olympics.
Sungjae Im to finish in the top 20 (+100)
Im didn’t have his best game at the Wyndham Championship, where he tied for 41st. But prior to that showing, he had finished tied for 12th or better in four straight tournaments and in eight of ten tournaments.
