With the Open Championship set to take place next week at Royal Troon, a number of potential contenders will be getting in some competitive reps in this week’s Genesis Scottish Open.
For the sixth consecutive year, the tournament is being held at the Renaissance Club in North Berwick, a 7,237-yard, par-70 course.
Last year, Rory McIlroy won the Genesis Scottish Open for the first time, with his 15-under 265 edging out Scotsman Robert MacIntyre by one stroke.
To date, the only players who have won the Scottish Open multiple times are 1991 Masters winner and former world number one Ian Woosnam, who won the tournament in 1987, 1990, and 1996, and four-time major champion and former world number one Ernie Els, who won the tournament in 2000 and 2003.
Will McIlroy join Woosnam and Els? Ahead of the first round, he and PGA Championship winner Xander Schauffele jointly have the best odds to win the Genesis Scottish Open at BetOnline.

Who Are the Favorites to Win the Genesis Scottish Open?
Rory McIlroy (+900)
After agonizingly letting a long-awaited fifth major title slip away in the final holes of the U.S. Open last month, McIlroy took a few weeks off. Will he come back with a bang?
Xander Schaufffele (+900)
After winning the Genesis Scottish Open two years ago, Schauffele finished tied for 42nd last year. A similar finish this week would be a major surprise, given that he has finished outside of the top 20 only twice this season.
Ludvig Aberg (+1600)
Since missing the cut at last year’s Scottish Open, Aberg has established himself as one of the stars of both today and tomorrow and will be expected to contend both this week and next week at Royal Troon.
Collin Morikawa (+1800)
Morikawa is the only player on this list without a win this season, but it may be only a matter of time before the two-time major champion picks up his first official win since the 2021 Open Championship. Excluding the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, a team event, Morikawa has finished 16th or better in eight consecutive tournaments, including four top-five finishes.
Genesis Scottish Open Predictions & Picks
Genesis Scottish Open Winner Pick: Xander Schauffele (+900)
In last year’s Scottish Open, Schauffele shot a final-round 74 and tied for 42nd. With how well he has been playing this season, don’t expect a similar result this year.
If you don’t want to lock him in as your winner pick, lock him in for a top-five finish (+225), a top-ten finish (+120), and perhaps even a top-20 finish (-150), despite the juice.
Tommy Fleetwood to finish in the top 20 (+110)
Fleetwood has finished in the top 20 in his last three tournaments and should make it four straight this week. He performed well in the previous two editions of the Genesis Scottish Open, tying for fourth in 2022 and tying for sixth last year.
Tom Kim to finish in the top 20 (+150)
Kim had an unexpectedly disappointing week at the Rocket Mortgage Classic two weeks ago, missing the cut after entering the tournament as the favorite. Look for a much better result at the Renaissance Club, where he tied for sixth last year and came in third in 2022.
If you feel confident that he will be near the top of the leaderboard—which I do—he is +315 for a top-ten finish and +650 for a top-five finish.
Robert MacIntyre to finish in the top 20 (+210)
In his first full season on the PGA Tour, MacIntyre has had quite the adventure. He won the RBC Canadian Open last month and finished eighth at the PGA Championship, but he has also missed nine cuts.
Back on home soil, MacIntyre should have a positive week this week. At the Renaissance Club last year, he shot a final-round 64, but a bogey on the par-5 16th cost him dearly.
