Today is one of the most exciting days in golf, as we have reached the final round of the Masters. With three rounds down, Scottie Scheffler is ahead by three shots over Cameron Smith and five shots over first round leader Sungjae Im.
Odds to Win the 2022 Masters Tournament (Following the Third Round)
Odds are via BetOnline Sportsbook.
- Scottie Scheffler -200
- Cameron Smith +280
- Sungjae Im +1500
- Shane Lowry +4800
- Justin Thomas +6500
- Charl Schwartzel +16000
- Corey Conners +19000
The seven golfers listed above are the only players under par entering the final round following a very frustrating Saturday for many in the Masters field.
Fifteen players entered the weekend under par, but the third round was not a particularly fun round for many players, Tiger Woods included. After shooting 1-over to easily make the weekend cut at Augusta, Tiger shot a 6-over 78 on Saturday to drop into a tie for 41st.
As for the leaders, the round of the day belonged to Smith, who bounced back from a 74 on Friday to shoot a 4-under 68. Entering the final round, he sits at 6-under, five shots better than where he was at this juncture last year.
Scheffler opened Saturday at 8-under and was -11 at the turn after a 33 on the front nine. However, a 2-over 38 on the back nine brought him back to the field just a bit. The new world number one had four bogeys his final seven holes, including one on the 18th.
But after a third straight under-par round–no other player in the field even has three rounds of par or better–Scheffler is in a strong position to claim his first major title today.
2022 Masters Leaderboard (Following the Third Round)
- 1. Scottie Scheffler -9 (69-67-71)
- 2. Cameron Smith -6 (68-74-68)
- 3. Sungjae Im -4 (67-74-71)
- t-4. Charl Schwartzel -2 (72-69-73)
- t-4. Shane Lowry -2 (73-68-73)
- t-6. Corey Conners -1 (70-73-72)
- t-6. Justin Thomas -1 (76-67-72)
- 8. Danny Willett E (69-74-73)
Golf betting can be a wild, unpredictable experience at the best of times, given the nature of the game, but the final round of major tournaments can make for an especially chaotic time.
But there is a lot of value on the board, and even if your pre-tournament picks have all already crashed and burned by this point, there are a number of options that could help you end the weekend on a winning note.
Best Bets for the Final Round of the 2022 Masters
Final Round Score Props
Tiger Woods to shoot 72 or better (+134 at BetOnline Sportsbook)
It is an achievement in itself that Tiger is even playing on Sunday at the Masters after not playing a competitive tournament in so long.
So as frustrating as Saturday’s 78 might have been, he can go out today and feel pretty good about where he is, no matter where he finishes on the leaderboard. He won’t come up with the top-ten finish we aimed for in our 2022 Masters betting picks, but that is nothing to be disappointed about.
All that said, Tiger is Tiger, and he isn’t going to want to go out with another bad round. Yesterday was not great for him and many others, but this is value that can’t be passed up.
Corey Conners to shoot 71 or better (-112 at FanDeul Sportsbook)
Conners finished in the top ten at the Masters in 2020 and 2021, and he had multiple under-par rounds in each tournament.
He needs an under-par round today to do that this year, and as one of the few players whose scores haven’t wildly fluctuated one way or the other, I like him to have a steady hand today and make a push for a top-five finish.
Finishing Position
Best Value Bet: Rory McIlroy to finish in the top 5 (+500 at Bovada Sportsbook)
McIlroy is another player whose scores have had some consistency, as he has posted rounds of 73, 73, and 71 thus far. No, it is not spectacular, and at +1 and ten shots back of Scheffler, he isn’t going to be contention to win unless something absolutely bonkers happens.
But while many golfers struggled on Saturday, Rory turned in one of the seven under-par scores in the field. If he can post another solid score to close out his tournament, he could easily land in the top five. This is exceptional value.
Other Masters Finishing Position Best Bets
- Dustin Johnson to finish in the top 10 (+100 at Bovada Sportsbook)
- Webb Simpson to finish in the top 10 (+450 at BetOnline Sportsbook)
- Patrick Reed to finish in the top 20 (+190 at BetOnline Sportsbook)
- Marc Leishman to finish in the top 20 (+100 at both Bovada Sportsbook and BetOnline Sportsbook)
