It was a hard-fought battle, but Matt Fitzpatrick left Brookline, Massachusetts over the weekend as this year’s U.S. Open champion. With that in the rearview mirror, golf fans are focused on the PGA TOUR’s next stop: the 2022 Travelers Championship.
This week’s festivities are taking place, once again, at TPC at River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut. The course is a total of 6,844 yards long and par is set at 70.
Harris English surprised PGA fans last year when he took home the 2021 title, finishing 13-under-par as he defeated Kramer Hickok in a playoff for the victory. Only time will tell if we get another surprise winner this week.
Fortunately, BetOnline Sportsbook’s latest odds help shed some light on who might walk out of Cromwell as this year’s Travelers Championship winner.

Best Bets for the 2022 Travelers Championship
Rory McIlroy (+1100)
Three golfers share top odds to win the 2022 Travelers Championship and one of them happens to be none other than Rory McIlroy.
The 33-year-old Northern Ireland phenom enters this week coming off a solid T-5 finish at the U.S. Open. As impressive as that was, it’s just something that McIlroy has been doing often as of late.
McIlroy has finished T-5 or better in four of his last six outings, with his best finish over that stretch being a victory at the RBC Canadian Open. Even when he didn’t finish inside of the top 5 during that span, his other two performances involve him placing eighth at the PGA Championship and T-18 at the Memorial Tournament.
When it comes to his Travelers Championship history, McIlroy has competed at TPC River Highlands three times in his career. Although he’s never won the tournament, his positioning has gotten better each year.
McIlroy finished 17th in his course debut back in 2017 before placing 12th in 2018. The last time he competed in Cromwell was in 2020, placing 11th.
While his course history might be lacking, McIlroy’s recent 2022 PGA TOUR play is enough to make him a viable option to win the Travelers Championship this week.
Jordan Spieth (+2200)
Former champions usually make for good betting options, especially when it’s a tournament that sticks to the same golf course every year. That’s why bettors should have their eyes on Jordan Spieth in the coming days.
Spieth captured his first Travelers Championship victory in 2017, defeating Daniel Berger in a playoff. The Dallas, Texas native finished with a total score of 268, ending the festivities by going 12-under-par.
Unfortunately, that was Spieth’s only taste of success. He’s finished 42nd or worse in three entries since then, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t a solid choice this time around.
Spieth has momentum on his side. In his last six outings, he’s finished inside of the top 25 four teams, including three performances where he placed T-7 or better. The best out of those showings was a victory at the RBC Heritage followed by a second-place showing at the AT&T Byron Nelson.
Spieth is due for a big-time performance in Cromwell and it remains to be seen if that happens this week. If he’s successful, he’ll become the eighth golfer in tournament history to become a multi-time winner.
Scottie Scheffler Top 5 (+200)
More often than not on the 2022 PGA TOUR, Scottie Scheffler has found his name near the top of the leaderboard in most events he’s entered.
The 25-year-old has entered 19 tournaments this season, placing inside of the top 10 nine times. Out of those nine impressive performances, four of them resulted in victories while three were still respectable second-place showings.
In fact, Scheffler just placed T-2 at the U.S. Open over the weekend. Just three weeks before that, he was placing second at the Charles Schwab Challenge. Needless to say, he knows how to make an impact.
Scheffler has only entered the Travelers Championship twice, failing to make the cut in 2020 and placing 47th last year. Fans can forget about those performances, though, because his current is enough to trust him with a top-five finish this week.
Keegan Bradley Top 10 (+320)
One player that’s been flying under the radar lately has been Keegan Bradley. Though he hasn’t been the most consistent performer this season, he’s begun to put things together lately.
Bradley has placed T-8 or better in four of his last six outings, including a T-7 finish at the U.S. Open. He had a couple of hiccups along the way at the PGA Championship (T-48) and Memorial Tournament (T-37) but has looked strong other than that.
Furthermore, he’s entered the Travelers Championship 11 times over his career, cracking the top 10 twice in his last five entries. He placed second in 2019, showing the world that he has what it takes to come close to a victory.
Tournament history and recent play combined, I think the timing is good for Bradley to finish inside of the top 10 at the 2022 Travelers Championship.
