Aqueduct Saturday New York Kentucky Derby Trail Heats Up

The Withers Stakes will be run on Saturday at Aqueduct. The race will offer Kentucky Derby to the winner. The New York path ahs struggled in recent vintage to produce Derby winners.

Aqueduct- Race 1

Post: 12:20 PM ET; $70k Maiden Special Weight going 6 furlongs on dirt; Entries: 9

• #5 NAUGHTY NAN (9-2) should improve off the first start and gets the top selection. This one has solid early pace figures in a race that looks to lack a ton of front running speed.
• #2 QUEENS OVER THREES (8-1) should be a part of the early pace in this spot.
• #6 MONROE (6-5) debuts here but seems quite fancied by one of the top morning line makers in the country. This one may have a lot of backside buzz.
• #7 MY ANGEL (8-1) will look to take a step forward off the debut effort.

• #5 RUVIES IN TIME (8-1) appears to be a major player in this race. She makes sense on speed figures. This one runs evenly and looks to get a very fair pace scenario here.
• #4 GANDY DANCING (6-1) could be in with a shot in this race. He has races good enough to beat this group. This one goes out for the Barrera barn and gets Davis in the irons.
• #2 QUICK RETURN (7-2) feels like a fringe contender in this spot. He will likely be in the first flight of runners and should be in with a chance late. This one has to be respected going out for the combination of Arriaga and Franco.

• #3 KOOL KATHMANDU (7-2) could be in with a shot in this race. He shouldn't have trouble with the 6 furlong distance.
• #2 DAYDREAMING BOY (9-2) is probably best to put underneath on most tickets. This one has proven to be able to handle these conditions in previous starts.

• #1 TENEBRIS (5-2) makes sense on speed figures. This one has the top overall power rating in the group.
• #2 ALLABOUTTHEMONEY (7-2) could get the right setup in this race.
