Aqueduct Saturday: NYRA Horse Racing Analysis (1/14)

The Saturday card from Aqueduct features the Busanda. Occult was installed as the morning line favorite in the Saturday feature.

Aqueduct- Race 1

Post: 12:20 PM ET; $43k Maiden Claiming going 1 mile on dirt; Entries: 6

• #6 CARIBBEAN BREEZE (6-5) gets the top selection. She goes out for the Cox barn and gets Franco in the irons. This one comes into the race in really good form.
• #4 FOLLOW THE FED (7-2) appears to be a major player in this race. She is well bred for this spot. This one could be a dangerous threat to get loose on the front end.
• #3 NEVER PERSONAL (5-2) shouldn't have trouble with the 1 mile distance.
• #2 DASHING DELLA (10-1) is a price horse and could be in with a shot in this race. She should be involved in the early place which is always dangerous on the winter NYRA track.

• #5 PLAYINGWITHMATCHES (2-1) is the top pick. He has been really solid in recent starts and should be ready to run a big one here.
• #3 INSPEIGHTOFTRAINER (4-1) appears to be a major player in this race. He runs evenly and looks to get a very fair pace scenario here. This one has proven to be able to handle these conditions in previous starts.
• #6 IT'S VIPER (3-1) feels like a fringe contender in this spot. He makes sense on speed figures. This one goes out for the Russell barn and gets Franco in the irons.
• #4 FLASHY ALEX (15-1) is a price horse and feels like a fringe contender in this spot. He looks to be the class of the field.

• #1A BREAKING STONES (8-1) feels like a fringe contender in this spot. He runs evenly and looks to get a very fair pace scenario here.
• #1 BUSTIN THE RULES (8-1) is probably best to put underneath on most tickets. He has a grinding run style that should work well in this spot. This one is a good bet to hit the board in this type of race.

• #5 REGALITY (9-2) gets the top selection. He seems to fit well here. This one has the top overall power rating in the group.
• #6 JADE'S DREAM (7-2) appears to be a major player in this race. He makes sense on speed figures.
• #7 JAY'STALKER (5-2) will likely be in the first flight of runners and should be in with a chance late. This one goes out for the Levine barn and gets Franco in the irons. Franco has been one of the hottest jockeys of late.
• #4 DONTBELATE (3-1) has to be respected going out for the combination of Giangiulio and Carmouche.

• #7 CLUBHOUSE (5-2) is the top pick. He has races good enough to beat this group. This one could be a dangerous threat to get loose on the front end.
• #5 VENGE (5-2) should improve off the first start and isn't without hope. The first effort was good enough to win here. This one will be rolling late and has a good closing kick that could get the job done here.
• #2 POWER IN NUMBERS (8-5) debuts here and is well respected on the morning line. He goes out for the Brown barn and gets Franco in the irons.
• #3 MY IMAGINATION (10-1) is a price horse and is probably best to put underneath on most tickets. He has run against some decent fields.

• #3 WEEKEND RAGS (8-5) looks best here. She shouldn't have trouble with the 6 furlong distance. This one has races good enough to beat this group.
• #5 DOWNTOWN MISCHIEF (6-1) debuts here and feels like a fringe contender in this spot. She has to be respected going out for the combination of Rice and Lezcano.
• #6 SWEET LIBERTY (8-1) is probably best to put underneath on most tickets. She could be a dangerous threat to get loose on the front end.
• #9 PINSTRIPEPIZZO (6-1) is one that shouldn’t be totally overlooked at first asking here.

• #3 LIAM'S FIRE (6-1) appears to be a major player in this race. The speed figures put him in the mix here. This one may benefit from a hot pace up front.
• #1 FAST N FEARIOUS (8-1) could be in with a shot. He looks to be the class of the field.
• #4 UPPER LEVEL (8-1) isn't without hope. He could get the right setup in this race.
