Del Mar Saturday: Graded Stakes Pair Highlights Program

Del Mar Saturday features 2 graded stakes races. The Sorrento and The Yellow Ribbon both hold that distinction. The former on dirt, the latter on turf.

Del Mar- Race 1

Post: 2:00 PM PT; $43k Starter Allowance going 7 furlongs on dirt; Entries: 7

• #4 CONUNDRUM (9-5) gets the top selection. He has the top overall power rating in the group.
• #6 SUZIE QZZ BROTHER (6-1) has been really solid in recent starts and should be ready to run a big one here. This one has tactical speed and can sit just off the leaders for a stalk and pounce trip.
• #7 BALADI (4-1) has proven to be able to handle these conditions in previous starts.
• #2 MULTI PLATINUM (5-2) comes into the race in really good form.

• #1 BIG HOPES (3-1) debuts here and has to be respected going out for the combination of Sadler and Hernandez.
• #4 ORGANIC (8-1) should improve off the first start and isn't without hope. The first race was honest enough to be a player here.

• #1 CRASH CORRIGAN (4-1) should be competitive in this spot. He has really consistent pace figures which should work well in a moderately paced race.
• #6 CITY RAGE (6-1) looks to be the class of the field.

• #1 COUNT OF AMAZONIA (4-1) could be in with a shot in this race. He makes sense on speed figures.

• #13 QUICK INTRO (6-1) feels like a fringe contender in turf sprint.

• #7 FLIPPANT (4-1) should be competitive in this spot. She has been really solid in recent starts and should be ready to run a big one here.
• #1 AVENUE DE FRANCE (4-1) could be in with a shot in this race. She makes a ton of sense on speed figures.
• #5 PARK AVENUE (4-1) isn't without hope. She seems to fit well enough here on class.

• #3 ALEXANDER HELIOS (10-1) is a price horse and shouldn't have trouble with the 6 1/2 furlong distance.
• #2 CAVE ROCK (5-2) debuts here and has to be respected going out for the combination of Baffert and Hernandez.
• #7 ULTIMATE GAMBLE (3-1) is well fancied going out first time here.

• #9 HANDY DANDY (7-2) should be sitting in the second tier of runners and looking to make one well timed run at the leaders.
• #4 ANMER HALL (5-2) has to be respected going out for the combination of Miller and Vazquez.
• #3 OPTIMISING (5-1) seems to fit well enough here. This one comes into the race in really good form.
• #8 DANDY WARHOL (7-2) goes out for the combination of Glatt and Rispoli. The jockey is one of the best on the California grass.

• #5 SATIN DOLL (5-1) should improve off the first start and appears to be a major player in this race. She has proven to be able to handle these conditions in previous starts. This one makes sense on speed figures.
• #2 VEGAS MAGIC (6-1) could be in with a shot in this race. She has solid early pace figures in a race that looks to lack a ton of front running speed.
• #1 PROCRASTINATION (8-5) should improve off the first start and feels like a fringe contender in this spot.
