Fair Grounds will be an important part of the Kentucky Derby trail hosting the Risen Star and the Louisiana Derby. On Friday they run the last card before the holiday break.

Fair Grounds Race Course- Race 1

Post: 1:15 PM CT; $16k Maiden Claiming going 6 furlongs on dirt; Entries: 6

• #3 PLANTERS PUNCH (3-5) gets the top selection. He shouldn't have trouble with the 6 furlong distance. This one could be a dangerous threat to get loose on the front end.
• #2 RAMMER JAMMER (9-2) could be in with a shot in this race. He has solid early pace figures in a race that looks to lack a ton of front running speed. This one has proven to be able to handle these conditions in previous starts.
• #4 HERMS CROWN (6-1) seems to be running for the minor placings in this contest. He could be involved in the early stages of the race and will look to hold on.
• #5 T G'S NELSON (8-1) seems like one that probably has to go if he wants to win. Maybe this one gets brave, but it feels like he’ll be trying to hold on for a minor award.

• #3 BLACKTECA (2-1) is the top pick. He looks to be the class of the field. This one has really consistent pace figures which should work well in a moderately paced race.
• #5 BLINDEDBYTHEGEES (3-1) appears to be a major player in this race. He makes sense on speed figures. This one has a grinding style that should work well here.
• #4 MOKINGS (6-1) feels like a fringe contender in this spot. He runs evenly and looks to get a very fair pace scenario here.
• #1 PROBLEM CHILD (6-1) is probably best to put underneath on most tickets. He has to be respected going out for the combination of Alonzo and Gutierrez.

• #6 ELECTRIC SENSE (4-5) looks best here. She has races good enough to beat this group. This one has the pedigree to be a major player in this spot.
• #7 YOU HAVE NO IDEA (4-1) has tactical speed and can sit just off the leaders for a stalk and pounce trip. This one is well bred for this spot.
• #5 TWO HANDS FULL (8-1) debuts here and is probably best to put underneath on most tickets. The breeding says this filly should be able to compete here, but the morning line suggests otherwise.
• #4 MY LADY LUNA (9-2) has a bit of experience and a decent pedigree for a group that lacks world beaters.

• #8 STRAWBERRY SUNDAE (7-2) gets the top selection. She looks to be the class of the field. This one has been really solid in recent starts and should be ready to run a big one here.
• #1 BITSY PERFECTMATCH (4-1) should improve off the first start and appears to be a major player in this race. She shouldn't have trouble with the 6 furlong distance.
• #3 COUNTRY LADY (5-1) has solid early pace figures in a race that looks to lack a ton of front running speed. This one has run against decent company in the previous efforts.
• #4 MADISON'S SCREEN (8-1) should improve off the first start and feels like a fringe contender in this spot. She could be a dangerous threat to get loose on the front end.

• #5 CONSTITUTIONAL LAW (3-1) should be competitive in this spot. This one has solid early pace figures in a race that looks to lack a ton of front running speed.
• #1 BADGEBALL (5-2) makes some sense in this race. He goes out for the Foley barn and gets Morales in the irons. This one fits well enough on speed figures.
• #6 MULTI PLATINUM (3-1) isn't without hope. He makes sense on speed figures. This one is a good bet to hit the board in this type of race.

• #4 HAROLD'S CLOUD (5-2) appears to be a major player in this race. He has been really solid in recent starts and should be ready to run a big one here. This one has to be respected going out for the combination of Stidham and Gutierrez.
• #3 NATURAL RED (7-2) isn't without hope. He makes sense on speed figures. This one seems to fit well enough here.
• #8 WOLF HUNTER (5-1) seems like one that needs a little help but will likely be out on or near the lead and will look to hold off the charge to the wire.

• #3 IRON BANNER (7-2) looks best here. She looks to be the class of the field. This one should be sitting in the second tier of runners and looking to make one well timed run at the leaders.
• #7 KAITLYN'S COURT (6-1) should be competitive in this spot. She makes sense on speed figures.
• #6 I DONT KNOW EITHER (6-1) shouldn't have trouble with the 1 mile distance.
• #2 EYESEEMONEY (5-1) will be rolling late and has a good closing kick that could get the job done here.
