Belmont at the Big A Sunday: Frizette, Pilgrim Analysis

There are a pair win and you’re in races on the final Belmont at the Big A card of the week. The Pilgrim and Frizette will stamp tickets to the Breeders’ Cup in November.

Belmont at the Big A- Race 1

Post: 1:00 PM ET; $95k Maiden Special Weight going 6 1/2 furlongs on dirt; Entries: 7

• #4 SPELTERINI (8-5) gets the top selection. She has been really solid in recent starts and should be ready to run a big one here.
• #3 RISK FREE (12-1) is a price horse and will likely be in the first flight of runners and should be in with a chance late.
• #5 FIRELINE (6-1) debuts here and is probably best to put underneath on most tickets. She goes out for the Brown barn and gets Prat in the irons.
• #2 SEDUCTION (3-1) is respected on debut by one of the best line makers in the country.

• #9 ARI GOLD (2-1) should improve off the first start and is the top pick. He should be part of the early pace in this spot.
• #7 SCRAMBLE (7-2) comes into the race off a really nice debut.
• #5 CONVERSING (5-2) goes out for the Mcgaughey barn. Shug tends to get the horses better with each start so this one has license to step forward.
• #6 WIDERIGHT (8-1) makes sense on speed figures. This one has to be respected going out for the combination of Mott and Alvarado.

• #6 EASY TIME (9-2) appears to be a major player in this race. He comes into the race in really good form.
• #3 OCEAN ATLANTIQUE (5-2) seems to fit well enough here. This one has races good enough to beat this group.
• #1 CALL ME HARRY (9-2) makes sense on speed figures.

• #4 MISBEHAVED (2-1) gets the top selection. He has the top overall power rating in the group.
• #7 EMINENCY (8-1) has proven to be able to handle these conditions in previous starts.
• #6 SOUTHERN PASSAGE (6-1) could be in with a shot in this race. He comes into the race in really good form.
• #3 BLU GROTTO (9-2) should be sitting in the second tier of runners and looking to make one well timed run at the leaders. This one could be the class of the field.

• #5 SECRET THUNDER (7-2) has solid early pace figures in a race that looks to lack a ton of front running speed.
• #9 BLAME D RULE MAKER (9-2) feels like a fringe contender in this spot. He makes sense on speed figures.
• #3 CARA'S PRINCE (30-1) is a price horse and is probably best to put underneath on most tickets and will likely try to be involved early.

• #1 JANE GREY (2-1) will likely be in the first flight of runners and should be in with a chance late. This one looks to be the class of the field.
• #2 WASP (4-1) could be in with a shot in this race. She has run some really impressive races in her career and they’d be good enough here.
• #5 MASHNEE GIRL (8-1) feels like a fringe contender in this spot. She has races good enough to beat this group.

• #8 ROCKY SKY (5-1) should be competitive in this spot. She has really consistent pace figures which should work well in a moderately paced race.
• #3 GLADYS (8-1) comes into the race in really good form. This one seems to fit well enough here.
• #7 TASS (15-1) is a price horse and feels like a fringe contender in this spot. She runs evenly and looks to get a very fair pace scenario here.

• #7 YOU'RE MY GIRL (5-1) should improve off the first start and has to be respected going out for the combination of Terranova and Rosario.
• #6 THE GREAT MAYBE (7-2) shouldn't have trouble with the 1 mile distance. This one has been really solid in recent starts and should be ready to run a big one here.
• #2 AMERICAN ROCKETTE (6-1) isn't without hope. She comes into the race in really good form.

• #10 I'M VERY BUSY (7-5) should improve off the first start and looks best here. Brown and Prat are very dangerous on the turf.
• #1 FLY RIGHT (6-1) shouldn't have trouble with the 1 1/16 mile distance. This one runs evenly and looks to get a very fair pace scenario here.
• #2 NOBLE HUNTSMAN (20-1) is a price horse and could be in with a shot in this race. He’s been keeping good company.
• #3 MAJOR DUDE (8-1) will likely be in the first flight of runners and should be in with a chance late. This one goes out for the Pletcher barn and gets Ortiz in the irons.
