Gulfstream Park Saturday: Turf Stakes Analysis, Selections

The Saturday card from Gulfstream Park features the Pulpit and the Wait a While Stakes. Both stakes races will be run on the turf course which has been resting over the summer.

Gulfstream Park- Race 1

Post: 12:10 PM ET; $70k Maiden Special Weight going 1 mile on turf; Entries: 11

• #11 ROYAL SALUTE (3-1) should improve off the first start and gets the top selection. He has the pedigree to be a major player in this spot. This one goes out for the Lynch barn and gets Saez in the irons.
• #7 HARBOR MOON (10-1) looks to be the class of the field. This one should be sitting in the second tier of runners and looking to make one well timed run at the leaders.
• #4 JUNIPERO SERRA (8-1) is probably best to put underneath on most tickets, but wouldn’t be a surprise to hit the board.
• #5 SBAGLIATO (9-2) debuts here for the Clement barn and gets Gaffalione in the irons.

• #6 FINAL EPISODE (7-2) is the top pick. She projects to sit mid pack and come with one run.
• #4 ANGELIC GAL (7-5) could be in with a shot in this race. She has races good enough to beat this group. This one has the top overall power rating in the group.
• #5 DROPKICK QUEEN (9-2) feels like a fringe contender in this spot. She should be part of the early pace in this spot.
• #2 GLASS STAR (6-1) is probably best to put underneath on most tickets. This one has proven to be able to handle these conditions in previous starts.

• #7 GI GI'S GOLDEN GAL (5-1) should improve off the first start and has proven to be able to handle these conditions in previous starts.
• #1 OUT FOR MYSELF (6-1) debuts here and feels like a fringe contender in this spot. She has the pedigree to be a major player here.
• #3 LUVISANAKI (4-1) should improve at second asking. She goes out for the Barboza barn and gets Vasquez in the irons.

• #4 ARI GOLD (9-5) gets the top selection. He goes out for the Pletcher barn and gets Saez in the irons.
• #7 SENDERO (3-1) feels like a player in this spot. He has the top overall power rating in the group. This one has to be respected going out for the combination of Pletcher and Ortiz.
• #5 CONGRUENT (6-1) isn't without hope. He has solid early pace figures in a race that looks to lack a ton of front running speed.
• #1 MAXIMO (15-1) is a price horse and seems to be running for the minor placings in this contest. He will likely be in the first flight of runners and should be in with a chance late.

• #6 NO DELIBERATION (5-2) is a worthy favorite. He has races good enough to beat this group. This one has to be respected going out for the combination of Trombetta and Lopez.
• #4 GOLDEN TALENT (9-5) appears to be a major player in this race. He has races good enough to beat this group. This one shouldn't have trouble with the 6 furlong distance.
• #1 MATRO (7-2) should improve off the first start and was productive enough to be a player with a step forward.

• #9 HARDY CHOICE (6-1) looks best here. He has been really solid in recent starts and should be ready to run a big one here.
• #1 GIOVANNINO (10-1) is a price horse and should be competitive in this spot. The rail can be good on the turf course and could allow this one to outrun the price.
• #3 JOHN MACARTHUR (12-1) is another longshot who should be worth a look to hit the number in this spot.
• #7 OK BOOMER (5-2) debuts here and has to be respected going out for the combination of Pletcher and Saez. The morning line suggests the word could be out on this runner.

• #6 ADIOS BABE (4-1) goes out for the Dobles barn and gets Saez in the irons.
• #7 LEXINATOR (15-1) is a price horse and appears to be a major player in this race. She projects to sit mid pack and come with one run.
• #3 SAMMY'S TOWN (8-1) makes sense on speed figures. This one shouldn't have trouble with the 5 furlong distance.

• #3 ISABEL ALEXANDRA (6-1) projects to sit mid pack and come with one run.
• #4 PERSONAL PURSUIT (7-2) has solid early pace figures in a race that looks to lack a ton of front running speed.
