Laurel Park continues racing on Saturday. The 10 race card features a good mix of racing levels and surfaces. The features are a pair of allowances on dirt and turf.
Laurel Park- Race 1
Post: 1:50 PM ET; $29k Maiden Claiming going 5 1/2 furlongs on turf; Entries: 8
- #8 GHOSTLY NIGHT (3-1) gets the top selection. She shouldn't have trouble with the 5 1/2 furlong distance. This one has races good enough to beat this group.
- #6 GIFT OF GAB (6-1) appears to be a major player in this race. She has to be respected going out for the combination of Merryman and Lopez. This one should be in the right spot to be in with a chance late.
- #2 HOV LANE (12-1) appears to be a major player in this race. She could be in the mix turning from home and will do so at a nice price.
- #1 SANCTIFIED TIME (8-1) should be competitive in this spot. She goes out for the Young barn and gets Boyce in the irons.

Post: 2:20 PM ET; $32k Starter Optional Claiming going 5 1/2 furlongs on dirt; Entries: 6
- #1 STROLL SMOKIN (7-5) gets the top selection. He has the perfect run style for this type of race and may just get the perfect trip here. This one has proven to be able to handle these conditions in previous starts.
- #2 YES SIR ROBERT (5-2) should be competitive in this spot. He should be in the right spot to be in with a chance late. This one has to be respected going out for the combination of Farrior and Bocachica.
- #6 FREE DANCER (3-1) could be in with a shot in this race. He should have the stamina to carry speed to the wire. This one may get the absolute dream flow of the race in this spot.
- #3 TOMMY SHELBY (12-1) is probably best to put underneath on most tickets. He has been really solid in recent starts and should be ready to run a big one here.

- #8 PRAY FOR THE U S A (12-1) is probably best to put underneath on most tickets. She may get the right run of the race in this spot.
- #3 EXCUSEMEMISSMARGOT (12-1) seems like she is running for the minor placings. She has to be respected going out for the combination of Sillaman and Glaser.

- #4 MISS FUSSY PANTS (3-1) gets the top selection. She has proven to be able to handle these conditions in previous starts. This one has the perfect run style for this type of race and may just get the perfect trip here.
- #5 MEAT SWEATS (6-1) appears to be a major player in this race. She has hit the board at the distance and could take a step forward for the win here. The run style seems to fit the race as well.
- #6 GRASS CUTTER (5-2) appears to be a major player in this race. She has to be respected going out for the combination of Robb and Cruz. This one is well bred for this spot.
- #3 CAMI RACHELLE (4-1) feels like a fringe contender in this spot. She has bloodlines to suggest that a dirt super sprint is the right place for this one.

- #3 CAPTAIN CARDO (7-2) should be competitive in this spot. He seems to fit well enough here.
- #7 FIVE STAR PHIL (6-1) should be competitive in this spot. The figures make this one worth a look. He shouldn't have trouble with the 7 furlong distance.
- #5 ANTIPOISON (6-1) feels like a fringe contender in this spot. He goes out for the Sanchez-Salomon barn and gets Garcia in the irons.

- #6 BLAME THE IRISH (9-2) feels like a fringe contender in this spot. She has a foundation to suggest she could break the maiden here.
- #7 PERFECT MOVE (10-1) isn't without hope. She has to be given a look going out for the combination of Magee and Rodriguez. This group isn’t exactly world beaters.

- #7 BREVIARY (2-1) should be competitive in this spot. She should be in the right spot to be in with a chance late. This one seems to fit well enough here.
- #5 MAVILUS (4-1) could be in with a shot in this race. She has the perfect run style for this type of race and may just get the perfect trip here. This one could get the right setup in this race.
- #3 BETCHA BY GOLLY (5-2) feels like a fringe contender in this spot. She makes sense on speed figures and has been keeping great company of late.

- #4 FAST LANI (3-1) isn't without hope. The previous efforts suggest this one fits in this spot.

- #4 NOBLE BID (2-1) appears to be a major player in this race. She makes sense on speed figures.

- #7 DR. FERBER (6-1) feels like a fringe contender in this spot. He may get the absolute dream flow of the race in this spot. This one has been good running in turf routes before.
- #5 LAKE NAKURU (4-1) is a contender here. He seems to fit well enough here. The value may be a bit short for underneath plays but this one is definitely in the mix.
