New York Breeding Program Highlighted Wednesday at Saratoga

The New York Stallion series is reserved for horses sired by horses standing in New York. On Wednesday, Saratoga will run another installment of the restricted stakes series.

Saratoga- Race 1

Post: 1:05 PM ET; $150k Jonathan Sheppard H. going 2 3/8 miles on hurdle; Entries: 8

• #6 SNAP DECISION (6-5) gets the top selection and has been really solid in recent starts and should be ready to run a big one here.
• #2 BELFAST BANTER (20-1) is a price horse going out for the combination of Murphy and Bargary.
• #4 GOING COUNTRY (12-1) is definitely an outsider but could outrun the odds.
• #7 CHIEF JUSTICE (10-1) goes out for the combo of Murphy and Foley.

Post: 1:39 PM ET; $42k Claiming going 6 furlongs on dirt; Entries: 6

• #1 GREELEY AND BEN (1-2) is the top pick. He could be a dangerous threat to get loose on the front end.
• #2 O'TROUBLE (5-1) should be competitive in this spot. Ricardo Santana Jr. rides this one.
• #4 QUICK RETURN (4-1) goes out for the Sharp barn and gets Saez in the irons.
• #3 WINNING DRIVE (6-1) should be forward and could have a say in the final result.

• #6 MOMMASGOTTARUN (1-1) looks best here and has races good enough to beat this group.
• #2 WICKED HAPPY (8-1) projects to sit mid pack and come with one run.
• #7 BACKED BY GOLD (5-2) makes sense on speed figures.
• #3 PERFECT PROVISION (7-2) seems to be running for the minor placings in this contest. Saffie Joseph is starting to show a bit of life outside of Florida.

Post: 2:49 PM ET; $50k Claiming going 1 1/16 miles on turf; Entries: 8

• #4 TALES OF MAKENNA (5-1) will be rolling late and has a good closing kick that could lead to an upset.
• #1 FREEDOM MACHINE (6-1) should be sitting in the second tier of runners and looking to make one well timed run at the leaders.
• #7 FRENCH FRANC (3-1) has proven to be able to handle these conditions in previous starts.
• #5 KEMBA (2-1) has the top overall power rating in the group and gets Rosario aboard.

Saratoga- Race 5

Post: 3:21 PM ET; $105k Maiden Special Weight going 6 furlongs on dirt; Entries: 8

• #7 BINSKY (4-1) should improve off the first start and is the top pick. She has the pedigree to be a major player in this spot.
• #8 JUSTIFYING (3-1) debuts here for the Asmussen barn and gets Rosario in the irons. She is out of triple crown winner Justify.
• #5 MIJA (7-2) is well bred to be precocious on debut.
• #6 PADMA (9-2) has been shown moderate respect on the line. This one is worth including on most tickets defensively.

Saratoga- Race 6

Post: 3:55 PM ET; $115k Allowance Optional Claiming going 1 mile on turf; Entries: 16

• #9 HASHTAG NO WONDER (15-1) is a price horse that looks dangerous here at a big price.
• #1 EMBOITE (10-1) is another long shot that will come late with one run.
• #6 ANALOGY (4-1) makes sense on speed figures.
• #13 ICARUS (8-1) has tactical speed and can sit just off the leaders for a stalk and pounce trip if the pace is moderate.

Saratoga- Race 7

Post: 4:29 PM ET; $83k Maiden Special Weight going 6 furlongs on dirt; Entries: 8

• #6 U GLOW GIRL (5-2) should improve off the first start and gets the top selection. She has been really solid in recent starts and should be ready to run a big one here.
• #7 CRYPTO MAMA (3-1) is well bred and comes off a productive first start. A step forward makes this one one of the horses to beat.
• #4 OH DONNA (4-1) debuts here and could be in with a shot in this race. She has to be respected going out for the combination of Handal and Ortiz.
• #5 AMAZON BARBIE (5-1) makes the maiden voyage here and feels like a fringe player. Money on the tote would suggest this one is live.

Saratoga- Race 8

Post: 5:05 PM ET; $95k Allowance going 1 mile on dirt; Entries: 6

• #6 MIA BEA STAR (3-1) is the top pick. She seems to fit well here. This one should be sitting in the second tier of runners and looking to make one well timed run at the leaders.
• #1 U GUYS ARE NO FUN (5-2) has to be respected going out for the combination of Englehart and Rosario. This one has the top overall power rating in the group.
• #3 GRINGOTTS (12-1) is a price horse and makes sense on speed figures.
• #5 CARAMOCHA (7-2) looks to be the class of the field. Castellano rides and he has been the best return on investment jockey at the meet.

Selections: 6 – 1 – 3 – 5

Saratoga- Race 9

Post: 5:39 PM ET; $150k New York Stallion Series S. going 1 mile on turf; Entries: 10

• #8 DAKOTA GOLD (3-5) looks best here. He has races good enough to beat this group. The price will be something that players have to weigh very carefully as there is likely to not be much meat on the bone.
• #5 MARINARA SAUCED (5-1) comes into the race in really good form and may be the best shot to beat the heavy favorite.
• #10 BARREL OF QUESTS (8-1) has been running against solid foes. Perhaps that’s enough for an improved performance here at a price.
• #3 SHINSUN (8-1) seems to be running for the minor placings in this contest but Saez likes to get position going forward. Maybe he can surprise with this runner.

Saratoga- Race 10

Post: 6:13 PM ET; $50k Claiming going 1 1/16 miles on turf; Entries: 11

• #6 CAFE FLEUR (5-2) gets the top selection and will be rolling late and has a good closing kick that could get the job done here.
• #5 GO BIG GREEN (6-1) may benefit from a hot pace up front.
• #10 OCEAN AIR (6-1) will likely be in the first flight of runners and should be in with a chance late.
• #9 PRINCESS PINKY (12-1) is a price horse and is probably best to put underneath on most tickets. She makes sense on speed figures. She will want plenty of run happening up front to get the job done.
