Pennsylvania Derby Draws Star Studded Field to Parx

The Pennsylvania Derby appears to be a throw down this year. The race at Parx drew some of the ultimate 3 year old superstars including Taiba, Zandon and Cyberknife.

Parx- Race 1

Post: 12:05 PM ET; $100k Maiden Special Weight going 7 furlongs on dirt; Entries: 17

• #12 DIDINGER (7-2) could be a dangerous threat to get loose on the front end. This one has the pedigree to be a major player in this spot.
• #15 BAT FLIP (9-2) has solid early pace figures in a race that looks to lack a ton of front running speed.
• #9 TUSKEGEE AIRMEN (5-1) debuts here and goes out for the Servis barn and gets Saez in the irons.
• #5 CHECKITUP (6-1) should improve off the first start and has to be respected with Rosario in the saddle.

• #12 BRUNO BARBER GIRL (6-1) has races good enough to beat this group.
• #10 FOGGY NIGHT (7-2) should improve off the first start and has the pedigree to be a major player in this spot.
• #14 ROSIE'S ALIBI (9-2) comes off a productive debut and should be in with a shot.
• #9 MAJESTIC CREED (5-1) will go out for the combination of Servis and Rosario.

• #5 LOOKIN AT ROSES (5-1) seems to fit well enough here and could get the right setup in this race.
• #10 EXIT RIGHT (3-1) has races good enough to beat this group.
• #12 SMARTEN UP (8-1) will likely be in the first flight of runners and should be in with a chance late.
• #9 HARD STING (7-2) will look for things to be very quick on the front end.

• #9 MARION GRACE (4-1) should improve off the first start and should be part of the early pace in this spot.
• #5 FLOR DE SOMBRA (8-5) has the top overall power rating in the group.
• #1 MIDNIGHT PARADE (5-1) goes out for the second start after a really nice debut effort.
• #2 PACHELBEL (8-1) is a middle priced horse that wouldn’t be a total shocker.

• #1 RESPIRATOR (20-1) has a chance to outrun the odds here.

• #8 LEADER OF THE BAND (9-5) shouldn't have trouble with the 1 mile 70 yard distance.
• #3 LOVE IN THE AIR (4-1) has been really solid in recent starts and should be ready to run a big one here.
• #4 MIDNIGHT OBSESSION (6-1) seems to fit well enough here.

• #2 MIND CONTROL (6-5) looks to be the class of the field.

• #5 TOO BOSS (9-2) has the top overall power rating in the group.
• #7 MILTON THE MONSTER (12-1) is a price horse and has been really solid in recent starts and should be ready to run a big one here.

• #8 FEARLESS (6-5) has the top overall power rating in the group. This one looks to be the class of the field.

• #5 RIDIN WITH BIDEN (8-1) seems to fit well enough here.
• #7 THE REDS (5-1) will look to pick up the pieces in the late stages.

• #11 SMOOTH B (6-1) comes into the race in great form.
• #4 NOTHING BETTER (4-1) has been really solid in recent starts and should be ready to run a big one here.
• #5 UNCLE ERNIE (8-1) will be ridden by Rosario who can be masterful in turf sprints.
• #1 THAT'S RIGHT (3-1) goes out for the Moore barn and gets Hernandez in the irons.

• #8 TAIBA (5-2) has to be respected going out for the combination of Baffert and Smith. This one finished 2nd to Cyberknife last out.
• #4 SKIPPYLONGSTOCKING (10-1) is a price horse and runs evenly and looks to get a very fair pace scenario here.

• #7 YOU MUST CHILL (3-1) has to be respected going out for the combination of Ness and Pennington.
• #9 O'BRIEN (15-1) shouldn't have trouble with the 1 1/16 mile distance.
