Saratoga Sunday Analysis: Big Invasion Imposing Force

The final stakes race of the weekend from Saratoga is the Mahoney. The race features Big Invasion who was installed as the odds on morning line favorite.

Saratoga- Race 1

Post: 1:05 PM ET; $83k Maiden Special Weight going 5 1/2 furlongs on turf; Entries: 11

• #1 DECCAN PRINCE (5-2) gets the top selection. He has to be respected going out for the combination of Maker and Saez.
• #7 STAR ATTITUDE (5-1) has really consistent pace figures which should work well in a moderately paced race.
• #6 M. C. DOUBLE R (12-1) should be part of the early pace in this spot.
• #10 THREE ZERO (8-1) isn't without hope and seems to fit well enough here.

• #6 SHESJUSTANICEGIRL (12-1) is a price horse and is the top pick. She is well bred for this spot.
• #9 FOREVER DIXIE (8-1) should improve off the first start and appears to be a major player in this race.
• #5 TOWHEAD (7-2) should be sitting in the second tier of runners and looking to make one well timed run at the leaders.
• #7 CONSEILLANTE (6-1) debuts here and isn't without hope. She goes out for the Brown barn and gets Rosario in the irons.

• #4 BIG Q (9-5) looks best here. She has been really solid in recent starts and should be ready to run a big one here.
• #1 PRAIRIE FIRE (2-1) isn't without hope. She will likely be in the first flight of runners and should be in with a chance late.
• #3 SHADOLAMO (6-1) is a good bet to hit the board in this type of race. This one makes sense on speed figures.
• #6 HAPPY SOPHIA (12-1) is a price horse and is probably best to put underneath on most tickets. The form says this one is ready for a big effort.

• #2 COST BASIS (7-5) gets the top selection. He has to be respected going out for the combination of Brown and Ortiz.
• #7 FIRE SWORD (7-2) shouldn't have trouble with the 7 furlong distance.
• #8 SWIFTSURE (9-2) appears to be a major player in this race. He has proven to be able to handle these conditions in previous starts.
• #6 EBBEN (6-1) could be in with a shot in this race. He runs evenly and looks to get a very fair pace scenario here.

• #8 SIXTH STREET (6-1) has been really solid in recent starts and should be ready to run a big one here.

• #4 UPPER CASE (9-2) debuts here and is an interesting prospect.
• #6 TWIN MISCHIEF (5-1) makes the first start for the Steve Asmussen barn and gets Rosario in the irons.

• #3 SPUNGIE (2-1) projects to sit mid pack and come with one run which has been a good trip on the grass.
• #6 OUT OF SIGHT (4-1) has been really solid in recent starts and should be ready to run a big one here.

• #4 BETSY BLUE (2-1) is the top pick. This one should be sitting in the second tier of runners and looking to make one well timed run at the leaders.
• #5 BRATTLE HOUSE (1-1) makes sense on speed figures and is a major player on class.
• #1 HONEY MONEY (20-1) is a price horse and should be part of the early pace in this spot.
• #6 SWEET WILLEMINA (9-2) feels like a fringe contender in this spot and will likely have a lot to do in the lane, but could get up with a competitive run.

• #3 SKY AND SAND (15-1) has been really solid in recent starts and should be ready to run a big one here. This one has really consistent pace figures which should work well in a moderately paced race.
• #6 SURPRISE BOSS (15-1) is a price horse. He has class that merits his presence in this race.
• #5 THAT'S RIGHT (6-1) seems to be running for the minor placings in this contest. He is a very probable board hitter.

• #3 RECKLESS SPIRIT (8-5) gets the top selection. He could get the right setup in this race.
• #2 BRAZILLIONAIRE (4-1) appears to be a major player in this race. He has proven to be able to handle these conditions in previous starts.
• #12 GREAT WORKOUT (5-2) has to be respected going out for the combination of Rice and Ortiz.
• #14 BOLD VICTORY (4-1) will be rolling late and has a good closing kick that could get the job done here. This one may benefit from a hot pace up front.
