With Joe Burrow suffering a devastating knee injury on Sunday, it is Justin Herbert’s award to lose as he separates himself from the rest of the pack as the clear front runner in the race for the Offensive Rookie of the Year award. With Tua getting benched for Ryan Fitzpatrick late in the fourth quarter, it is fair to say that Herbert’s odds of winning the award will go up.
As of right now, BetOnline and DraftKings have not re-listed the odds following week 11 of the NFL season, but when they do, I would not be surprised if Herberts odds to win the award goes from (-120) on November 11th, to somewhere in the (-225) range.
Steelers rookie wide receiver Chase Claypool has made a splash this season, recording his 10th touchdown on the year. If something were to happen with Herbert down the stretch, Claypool might be someone to keep your eye on.
Warriors Title Odds Plummet
Speaking of devastating injuries, Warriors Shooting Guard Klay Thompson suffered an Achilles tear and will miss the entirety of the 2020-21 NBA Season. Before the injury, the Warriors were considered one of the top three teams in the Western Conference by Vegas to reach the 2021 NBA Finals. However, after the news of Thompson’s injury the Warriors odds to reach the title have plummeted to (+2500) according to BetOnline.
Further down the coast of California, the Los Angeles Lakers have restocked their team by adding Dennis Schroeder, Marc Gasol and Montrez Harrell. The Lakers are currently the betting favorites at (+290) to repeat in 2021.
Fox Sports Midwest to be Renamed
The Sinclair Broadcasting group, which owns Fox Sports Midwest, has reached a deal with Casino operator Bally’s Corporation to rename the network “Bally’s Sports Midwest”. The idea behind this merger is to convert the traditional FSM into an interactive betting sports news station for fans.
The new telecast will allow fans to participate in traditional futures, along with live betting as the action plays out in real time. This merger could be revolutionary for the sports gambling industry with other networks likely to follow.
Tiger and Son will Compete in the PNC Championship
Tiger Woods and his 11-year old son Charlie will compete in the PNC Championship in December, which will air on NBC, the Golf Channel and Peacock. Other notable names that have competed in this tournament in the past have been Jack Nickalus and his son, and also John Daly and his son too.
However, Tiger and Charlie are not considered the betting favorites heading into the tournament at 6-2 odds. That title resides with Justin Thomas and his father, at 7-2 odds. Nonetheless it will be exciting to see Tiger and his son side by side competing in a tournament for the very first time, which will surely attract not only the die-hard golf fans, but the common fan alike.
I can only imagine that a surplus amount of money will be thrown on the father-son duo as they will likely be in the mix when it’s all said and done. What a fantastic moment this will be, one can only hope they will both be sporting red nike polos as they compete for the title.
