The stars of All Elite Wrestling return to Seattle this Sunday for AEW WrestleDream. The upcoming pay-per-view event is littered with dream matches that both die-hard and casual pro wrestling fans won’t want to miss.
As with other professional sports, sportsbooks like BetOnline are offering odds for AEW WrestleDream. Keeping that in mind, let’s take a look at the latest odds heading into each of this weekend’s matches, as well as my prediction for every dream bout.
AEW PPV Predictions: 5-2-0
AEW WrestleDream Predictions 2023
The AEW WrestleDream odds are courtesy of BetOnline as of 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 1.
The Don Callis Family (-300) vs. The Golden Lovers & Chris Jericho (+200)
One of the biggest matchups of the weekend sees the Don Callis Family (Sammy Guevara, Will Ospreay, and Konosuke Takeshita) taking on the Golden Lovers (Kota Ibushi and Kenny Omega) and Chris Jericho.
Although the heels are favored here, I wouldn’t be surprised if the underdogs pull off the upset. This feud feels far from over and I can’t see Omega losing a third straight bout to Takeshita.
It might come down to the wire, but look for the Golden Lovers and Jericho to extend the feud with a win here.
Best Bet: Golden Lovers & Jericho (+200)
Ricky Starks (-1000) vs. Wheeler Yuta (+500)
I wouldn’t be shocked if Ricky Starks and Wheeler Yuta stole the show at AEW WrestleDream. They’re two of the company’s top up-and-coming stars and it’ll be fun to see how their two different styles clash in the ring.
Having said that, you can’t be overthinking this one. Starks is ready to have the rocket strapped to his back and a loss to Yuta would kill all of his momentum. With how he’s been featured on television the last few months, Starks is an easy pick to win.
Best Bet: Ricky Starks (-1000)
Swerve Strickland (-280) vs. “Hangman” Adam Page (+185)
One match that I’m really looking forward to is the one between Swerve Strickland and “Hangman” Adam Page. Strickland is poised to be one of AEW’s top heels for years to come while Page is hungry to reach the main event heights that he hasn’t seen in some time.
When it comes to who needs the win more, it’s easily Strickland. Page can take the loss and be just fine in the fans’ eyes. A win for Strickland after a brutal match would boost his stock by a lot, elevating him to the world title picture in the process.
Look for Swerve to get the biggest win of his career at AEW WrestleDream.
Best Bet: Swerve Strickland (-280)

Bryan Danielson (-500) vs. Zack Sabre Jr. (+300)
One of the biggest dream matchups on Sunday pits Bryan Danielson one-on-one with Zack Sabre Jr. These two world-class wrestlers are two of the best technical wrestlers of all time and should put on a classic if all goes to plan.
I just don’t see a world where Sabre leaves with the win. Seattle is practically home for Danielson, who doesn’t have that much time left in his career. With ZSJ likely going back to Japan after the event is done, there isn’t much sense in giving him the win.
Best Bet: Bryan Danielson (-500)
ROH World Tag Team Championship: The Righteous (-125) vs. MJF (-110)
After it was revealed that Adam Cole requires foot surgery, MJF must now defend the ROH World Tag Team Championships in a handicap match against the Righteous (Vincent and Dutch).
Even though the odds are against the champ, I’m taking MJF to win. The Righteous are a solid pair, but I see the Kingdom (Matt Taven and Mike Bennett) being the ones to take the ROH tag gold due to the story that’s being told between Cole/MJF/Roderick Strong.
It’ll come down to the wire, but MJF will find a way to win — likely through dirty tactics as the People’s Scumbag.
Best Bet: MJF (-110)

Double Title Match: Eddie Kingston (-1000) vs. Katsuyori Shibata (+500)
AEW WrestleDream also features a double title match as Eddie Kingston defends the ROH World Championship and NJPW Openweight Championship against Katsuyori Shibata.
There’s no way that Kingston is losing this weekend — especially after just winning the ROH world title on Sept. 13. He’s due for a long, ass-kicking reign and this will just be the first of many classic defenses.
Best Bet: Eddie Kingston (-1000)
AEW World Tag Team #1 Contendership: Young Bucks (+100) vs. The Gunns (+200) vs. Orange Cassidy & HOOK (+200) vs. Lucha Brothers (+800)
If you’re hoping for some chaos, look no further than the #1 contenders match for the AEW World Tag Team Championships. This fatal four-way tag bout features the Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson), the Gunns (Austin & Colten Gunn), Orange Cassidy & HOOK, and the Lucha Brothers (Penta El Zero M & Rey Fenix).
By process of elimination, I’m going with the Gunns.
The Young Bucks just challenged for the titles and lost at All Out. Orange Cassidy and HOOK are fun together, but I don’t see them challenging for tag gold. It’s also hard to see the Lucha Bros winning given that Fenix just won the International Championship.
Besides, with Bullet Club Gold being featured more often, it just makes sense that the Gunns would get a crack at the gold next.
Best Bet: The Gunns (+200)
AEW World Tag Team Championship: FTR (-1000) vs. Aussie Open (+500)
FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) look to add another successful defense when they defend the AEW World Tag Team Championships against Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis) at WrestleDream.
This is one match that I keep going back and forth on. On one hand, FTR is one of the best teams on the planet at the moment and isn’t showing signs of slowing down. On the other hand, Aussie Open is red-hot and an upset win wouldn’t be all that shocking.
If we’re looking at this matchup in terms of value, Aussie Open isn’t a bad pick. I think the oddsmakers are being too harsh on them since I was expecting them to be around +350 for this match.
Best Bet: Aussie Open (+500)
AEW TNT Championship: Christian Cage (-120) vs. Aussie Open (-120)
The blood feud between ‘Father of the Year’ Christian Cage and Darby Allin has been one of the most heated rivalries over the last few months. It will likely come to an end at AEW WrestleDream as Cage defends the TNT Championship in a 2-out-of-3 falls match.
While Seattle is Allin’s hometown, I don’t see him getting the win. The fact that his family and friends will be in attendance screams that Cage is going to pull off some nefarious tactics to leave the challenger’s supporters disappointed.
Hell, I wouldn’t be surprised if Nick Wayne aligns himself with the champion to help screw over his mentor.
Best Bet: Christian Cage (-120)
AEW TBS Championship: Kris Statlander (-750) vs. Julia Hart (+400)
The sole women’s match of the weekend sees Kris Statlander defending the AEW TBS Championship against the House of Black’s Julia Hart. Hart has been building up some impressive momentum lately while Statlander’s reign is just getting started.
While I expect Hart to hold gold one day, it won’t be on Sunday. Statlander is one of AEW’s best female stars and she deserves a lengthy reign after being sidelined with a torn ACL for nine months.
Having said that, don’t expect Hart to be title-less for long.
Best Bet: Kris Statlander (-750)
