After a rough day on the mound yesterday against the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Milwaukee Brewers will look to bounce back today behind reigning NL Cy Young Award winner Corbin Burnes.
In yesterday’s series opener, five homers, including three by Michael Perez, produced all of Pittsburgh’s runs in an 8-7 win over Milwaukee. The Brewers had 12 hits and pulled within a run with three runs in the top of the ninth, but shortstop Luis Urias flied out to end the game with the tying run on second.
After hitting nine homers and scoring 16 runs in two games, the Pirates should have a harder time getting on the board against Burnes, who will be seeking his fourth straight win.

Can Contreras Match Burnes on the Mound?
It has been a bit of an up and down season for Burnes, but things are currently up at the moment, as he comes in with wins in his last three starts.
In that stretch, Burnes has posted a 2.18 ERA and has allowed just 12 hits and four walks. And with 27 strikeouts in those three starts, he currently sits first in the NL and third in MLB in strikeouts, trailing only Shane McClanahan (123) and Dylan Cease (121).
Another good start is in the cards for tonight if things stay in line with his away (3-1, 1.64 ERA in seven starts) and nighttime starts (4-2, 1.92 ERA in nine starts).
While one of the stars of today will be on the mound for the Brewers, a potential star of tomorrow will be on the mound for the Pirates. Contreras is cutting his teeth against some tough opposition, having faced the Padres, Braves, Cardinals, and Rays all on the road.
And he has certainly held his own, as he has yet to allow more than three earned runs in any of his seven starts thus far.
The 22-year-old has more innings and more appearances on the road, but he has been a beast at home thus far. In four appearances (three starts) at home, he is 2-0 with a 0.48 ERA and has allowed just one run, and he has not allowed more than one run in his three home starts.
Milwaukee Brewers vs. Pittsburgh Pirates Prediction and Best Bets

Brewers vs. Pirates Best Bets: Brewers -1.5 (-120 at BetOnline)
While Contreras has been impressive thus far this season, the Brewers have Burnes on their side, and that will count for a lot tonight. Look for the Brewers to bag the win and make it four straight wins for Burnes.
