One of the biggest rivalries in sports is renewed this weekend as the San Francisco Giants welcome the Los Angeles Dodgers to Oracle Park for a three-game series.
This is the first series in San Francisco this season between the two longtime rivals. Last month, the Dodgers swept a two-game set against the Giants at Dodger Stadium.
After seeing their run of NL West supremacy end last season despite winning 106 games, the Dodgers are on top of the division two months into this season, with the Giants 6.5 games behind L.A. and 4.5 games behind the San Diego Padres, who currently occupy second place.
After surprisingly losing two out of three at home to the Colorado Rockies this week, San Francisco could use a rivalry series win this weekend. But it won’t come easy, with Walker Buehler on the mound tonight and Julio Urias and Clayton Kershaw to follow tomorrow and Sunday.

Will Buehler End Shaky Stretch and Get Back on Track Tonight?
After going 16-4 with a 2.47 ERA and 212 strikeouts last season, Buehler was expected to be one of the top contenders for this year’s NL Cy Young Award.
But he already has some ground to make up if he is to be in the mix come the end of the season. In 2021, 27 of Buehler’s 33 starts were quality starts, but he has only three quality starts to this point this season.
He goes into this Dodgers vs. Giants matchup after a couple of substandard outings. Against the Pittsburgh Pirates on May 30, he allowed four runs and seven hits in a no-decision, and last time out, he took the loss against the New York Mets after allowing five runs, five hits, and two walks in a 9-4 loss six days ago.
One of the most glaring stats from those two starts is the fact that Buehler allowed two homers in each one. That is just the second time in his MLB career that he has allowed multiple homers in back-to-back outings. The other time occurred in July 2018, when he gave up two homers each in consecutive starts against the Angels and Phillies.
But bettors should be encouraged by Buehler’s excellent career numbers against the Giants. In 13 appearances (11 starts) against San Francisco, he is 7-1 with a 2.55 ERA. At Oracle Park, he is 6-1 with a 3.35 ERA in eight appearances (seven starts).
Los Angeles Dodgers vs. San Francisco Giants Prediction and Best Bets
Dodgers vs. Giants Prediction: Dodgers to win
Dodgers vs. Giants Best Bets: Dodgers ML (-150 at Bovada Sportsbook & BetUS) & UNDER 9 (-120 at Bovada Sportsbook & BetUS)
Buehler hasn’t had the best of times recently, but against an opponent he likes to beat, look for him to get back on track tonight. He’s facing the Giants at the right time as well, as they were pretty poor at the plate against the Rockies, managing only seven runs, 19 hits, and eight walks in three games.
As with most Dodgers games, the ML value isn’t particularly great relative to just about any other team. But at the same time, -150 is not a number that you are going to see often when it comes to this team, so it is pretty decent value relative to most of their games.
But if you are looking to maximize your potential profit, you can back the -1.5, which has a better number at BetOnline than any of our other recommended books. After all, 33 of their 37 wins this season have come by 2+ runs.
The under is also pretty solid value tonight. Junis, who is coming off of an excellent outing against the Marlins in Miami, has a 2.24 ERA in his last three starts and a 2.21 ERA in four appearances (three starts) in night games this season.
And a couple of notable trends favor the under as well. Thus far this season, the under is 18-10-2 in the Dodgers’ road games and 12-7-0 in their division games.
