While the Dodgers have picked up the pace recently after a slow start to the season, things have been going the opposite way for the Brewers.
Instead of getting their third win in a row last night, Milwaukee fell for the seventh time in nine games.
The Brewers opened the season by winning five of their first six series. But they have since lost four of their last five series, including their first two series this month to the Colorado Rockies and San Francisco Giants.
Today presents a good opportunity to help get the ship moving in the right direction.
Though the Dodgers have won nine of their last 11 games, they are still only 10-11 in games following a win and 8-8 as a road favorite.
Also, all of Kershaw’s worst starts this season have been on the road.
In three home starts, he is 3-0 with a 0.45 ERA and has given up just one run and nine hits (and no walks) in 20 innings. But he has given up at least three runs in each of his four road starts, and overall, he has allowed 23 hits, 14 runs (11 earned), and ten walks in 22.2 innings on the road.
This past Friday, he allowed season highs in hits (eight) and walks (five) and tied season highs in runs (four) and homers (two) as he pitched a season-low 4.2 innings in a loss at San Diego.

The Brewers are 3-0 in Miley’s home starts this season, and in those three home starts, Miley is 2-0 with a 1.59 ERA (17 IP, 16 H, 3 R, 3 ER, BB, 8 K). Also, last Thursday’s game at Colorado was the first time this season that an opponent had scored more than four runs in a game Miley has started.
