We have made it to Sunday once again, meaning we get this week’s installment of Sunday Night Baseball on ESPN as the Atlanta Braves host the San Diego Padres tonight in Truist Park. On Friday Night in Game 1 of this series, the Padres pulled out a 3-1 victory, with the next game of the series being postponed yesterday. Nevertheless, the teams square off tonight with a double header on Monday to really settle the series.
Will Yu Darvish and the Padres pull off the upset again? Or can the Braves defend their home field?
Will Braves Bounce Back at Home?
Pitching Matchup

Who Will Thrive on National Television?
The Padres sit at 23-24 this season, and are currently 2nd in the NL West, 7.5 games behind the Dodgers. They have plenty of time to catch them, but of course San Diego wants to start chipping away at that lead whenever they can. The Padres are 13-8 on the road this season, while the 26-15 Braves are 15-6 at home.
San Diego has scored nearly 20 more runs than the Braves have this season, however the Braves have excelled at not allowing very many runs. The Braves have allowed just 148 runs this season, which leads the NL by a landslide. The Yankees are in 2nd in the MLB with 152 runs allowed, but the Braves hold that title by almost 20 runs over the Dodgers in the National League. Atlanta has arguably been slumping these past two games, totaling just 1 run in each while allowing 10 total, however, I think the Braves are able to bounce back and get themselves a win tonight.
Sunday Night Baseball Best Bets – Padres vs Braves
Best Bets: Braves ML (-114) BetOnline
Ultimately, I think the Braves bounce back. We know Atlanta is capable of scoring at a moment’s notice, but we also know that they are one of the best defensive and pitching teams in the league, based on runs allowed. I think they really come to play tonight and Bryce Elder shoves on the mound.
Everything inside me is leaning towards the Braves at home on national television in this bounce back spot at home. That sentence alone nearly checks every single box, so ultimately, I’ve got no problem backing the Braves at Truist Park tonight.
