The MMA world is buzzing with excitement this week as UFC 276 is scheduled for this weekend. The UFC’s latest pay-per-view event will be taking place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday, July 2.
Although there’s no shortage of intriguing matchups on this card, everyone loves a good title fight and that’s exactly what they’re going to get when Israel Adesanya (22-1) defends his UFC Middleweight Championship against four-time ‘Performer of the Night’ Jared Cannonier (15-5).
Both men have been impressive in their own respective way lately, but only one can emerge victorious in Sin City. Will the champion pick up his fifth successful title defense? Or will the challenger win UFC gold for the first time in his career?
Fortunately, BetOnline Sportsbook’s latest betting odds help shed some light on the Adesanya vs. Cannonier main event. Here’s a look at those odds, as well as the best bet for the UFC 276 headliner.

Adesanya Heavily Favored Over Cannonier in UFC 276 Main Event
A look at the above betting odds reveals the story that Adesanya is the unanimous betting favorite over Cannonier ahead of UFC 276. Considering what the champion has recently accomplished in his career, it’d be hard to argue against him.
Although he has a loss on his record, Adesanya is a perfect 20-0 as a middleweight in his MMA career. Nobody in the weight class has been able to stop him, which has been made increasingly clear as his UFC resumé continues to grow.
After unifying the UFC Middleweight Championship at UFC 243 in October 2019, the 32-year-old has successfully defended his gold four times. Three of those victories came by unanimous decision, including the last two against Marvin Vettori and Robert Whittaker.
While he’s the heavy underdog, fans shouldn’t count Cannonier out just yet. He might not boast a record as impressive as Adesanya’s, but the Dallas, Texas native has been victorious in five of his last six fights.
What’s even more impressive is that four of those wins have come by KO/TKO, making up for half of the knockout victories in Cannonier’s career. Adesanya has never been knocked out before and has a 61% strike defense rate, so it’ll be interesting to see if the challenger can change that.
Either way, this will be the biggest fight of Cannonier’s 11-year career. He’s never had an opportunity to challenge for UFC gold before and even though the odds are pointing to a loss, you can never rule out an upset in the world of MMA.
UFC 276 Betting Markets & Trends for Adesanya vs. Cannonier
It’s common for fans to put money on who’ll be the outright winner in an MMA fight. However, there are also more in-depth options for UFC enthusiasts before the upcoming Adesanya vs. Cannonier tilt.
BetOnline Sportsbook is listing the likeliest method of victory as Adesanya winning by decision at +125. This shouldn’t come as much of a surprise considering that five of his last seven wins have come by decision and he’s 7-1 when his fights go the distance, whereas Cannonier is 3-3 in that scenario.
Winning by KO/TKO at +210 is the second likeliest method of victory for Adesanya, who owns 15 career knockout wins. Meanwhile, Cannonier’s top method is to win by KO/TKO at +550.
BetOnline is also slightly favoring the fight to not go the distance at -116.
If you’re looking for something more exact, combo markets have Adesanya being favored to win by KO/TKO in Round 1 at +900. Of his 15 all-time knockouts, seven of them have come in the first round.
Nevertheless, when it comes to how the fight will end, BetOnline is favoring the UFC 276 main event to be decided by decision at -115, followed by KO/TKO (+120) and submission (+900).
Adesanya vs. Cannonier Fight Prediction
Regardless of how well Cannonier has recently fought, I’m going with Adesanya to retain his middleweight championship at UFC 276. He’s been too good for too long and I don’t see Cannonier being the man to stop him.
As for the best bet, I’m going to take Adesanya winning by decision at +125. The champion is usually in control and has an average fight time of 17:35. Longer fights clearly work better for him and I’m expecting nothing less this weekend.
