Adesanya vs. Cannonier to Headline UFC 276

Both men are among the best that the middleweight division has to offer and likely won’t disappoint when the bell rings. It remains to be seen, though, which fighters will walk out with the middleweight championship.

UFC 276 Main Card and Odds (Odds as of Monday, June 27)
The UFC 276 odds listed below are via BetOnline Sportsbook.
UFC 276 Main Event: Israel Adesanya (-440) vs. Jared Cannonier (+310)
Israel Adesanya (22-1) has been close to being unstoppable throughout his MMA career. Now, he’s in search of his fifth successful middleweight title defense against Jared Cannonier (15-5) at UFC 276.
Adesanya’s sole career loss came when he fought Jan Blachowicz in a light heavyweight bout. Aside from that, he’s a perfect 20-0 as a middleweight and has shown no signs of slowing down anytime soon. He defeated Robert Whittaker by unanimous decision in his last title defense at UFC 271 back in February.
On the other hand, beating Cannonier won’t be easy. The 38-year-old veteran fighter has rattled off victories in five of his last six fights, defeating the likes of Anderson Silva, Kelvin Gastelum and Derek Brunson over that stretch.
Cannonier scored a second-round knockout victory over Brunson in his last bout at UFC 271, giving him a ton of momentum this week. He might be the underdog, but don’t count him out.
UFC 276 Co-Main Event: Alexander Volkanovski (-205) vs. Max Holloway (+158)
Alexander Volkanovski (24-1) will defend the UFC Featherweight Championship against former champion Max Holloway (23-6) in the third meeting between these two rivals.
Volkanovski is another fighter that’s only lost once in his career. He’s won 21 consecutive bouts, including when he defeated Holloway for the featherweight gold at UFC 237. Volkanovski then defeated Holloway again by split decision seven months later at UFC 245.
Meanwhile, Holloway has won back-to-back fights since his second loss to Volkanovski. He defeated both Calvin Kattar and Yair Rodriguez — both by unanimous decision — to get back into the title picture and is ready to do what it takes to finally score a win in the trilogy.
Middleweight: Sean Strickland (+102) vs. Alex Pereira (-130)
Fans will be treated to a second main card middleweight fight when Sean Strickland (25-3) and Alex Pereira (5-1) go one-on-one at UFC 276.
Strickland is the UFC’s No. 4-ranked middleweight, meaning a win could put him in championship contention. He’s 5-0 since returning to the division, winning four of those fights by decision.
It’ll be an uphill battle for Strickland as he faces former Glory middleweight and light heavyweight double-champion Alex Pereira. The 34-year-old Brazilian has won five straight matchups in his young MMA career, scoring an impressive unanimous decision victory over Bruno Silva just this past March.
Bantamweight: Pedro Munhoz (+215) vs. Sean O'Malley (-290)
Pedro Munhoz (19-7) and Sean O’Malley (15-1) are set to collide in bantamweight action at the T-Mobile Arena.
After beginning his career 18-3, Munhoz has found himself struggling to find a win. He’s 1-4 in his last five outings and each of those fights went the distance, including three unanimous losses for the 35-year-old.
It’s been the complete opposite for O’Malley, though. The Helena, Montana has been a knockout machine lately, going 8-1 since joining UFC, recording six KO/TKO victories over that span.
UFC 276 Preliminary Card
Lightweight: Brad Riddell (+100) vs. Jalin Turner (-128)
A couple of lightweights look to crack their division’s top 10 when Brad Riddell (10-2) and Jalin Turner (12-5) step into the octagon at UFC 276.
After seven straight wins, Riddell is looking to rebound after Rafael Fiziev knocked him out in December at UFC Vegas 44. Things won’t be easy for him against Turner, who’s won four fights in a row — two being by submission and the other two coming via TKO.
Welterweight: Robbie Lawler (-136) vs. Bryan Barberena (+108)
The first of three welterweight preliminary card fights pits Robbie Lawler (29-15) against Bryan Barberena (17-8).
Lawler snapped a four-fight losing streak at UFC 266 when he defeated Nick Diaz by TKO (retirement). He now looks to see if he can keep the momentum going against betting underdog Barberena, who’s won three of his last four fights ahead of this weekend.
Welterweight: Gabe Green (+136) vs. Ian Garry (-174)
Gabe Green (11-3) goes head-to-head against the undefeated Ian Garry (9-0) on the preliminary card as well.
Green is 8-1 in his last nine fights, but he still has much work to do against his opponent. Foe after foe has fallen to Garry, who’s won five of his nine career fights by KO/TKO. The 24-year-old is coming off a unanimous decision over Darian Weeks at UFC 273.
Welterweight: Jim Miller (-225) vs. Donald Cerrone (+172)
Jim Miller (34-16) was originally supposed to fight Bobby Green at UFC 276, but the latter withdrew, forcing Donald Cerrone (36-16) to take his place.
Miller has won back-to-back fights, while Cerrone has lost five of his last six. However, this isn’t the first time that these two fighters fought. They originally clashed at UFC Fight Night 45 in 2014, resulting in a knockout victory for Cerrone.
UFC 276 Early Prelims Card
Middleweight: Uriah Hall (+220) vs. André Muniz (-295)
Fans will be treated to another middleweight fight on the UFC 276 early prelims card when Uriah Hall (17-10) and André Muniz (22-4) meet in the cage.
Hall hasn’t fought since Strickland ended his four-fight winning streak with a unanimous decision loss in July 2021. He’s definitely in for one of his tougher challenges against Muniz — a winner of eight consecutive matchups.
Women’s Flyweight: Jessica Eye (+196) vs. Maycee Barber (-260)
Jessica Eye (15-10) and Maycee Barber (10-2) look to improve their flyweight rankings in one of two women’s fights on the entire UFC 276 card.
Eye hasn’t been able to buy a victory in nearly three years, losing each of her last trio of fights. Things aren’t going to get any easier for her considering that Barber has just secured back-to-back victories over the likes of Miranda Maverick and Montana De La Rosa.
Middleweight: Brad Tavares (+104) vs. Dricus du Plessis (-132)
Brad Tavares (19-6) looks to increase his winning streak to three fights when he meets Dricus du Plessis (16-2) in Las Vegas this weekend.
Even though Tavares has looked solid, du Plessis has now won four fights in his row. He’s dominated his opponents over that stretch, winning three of those fights by KO/TKO and not allowing his opponents to make it beyond Round 2.
Women’s Bantamweight: Jessica-Rose Clark (-146) vs. Julija Stoliarenko (+144)
Finally, Jessica-Rose Clark (11-7) and Julija Stoliarenko (9-6-2) go toe-to-toe in the second UFC 276 women’s bout.
Clark will be entering the fight as she comes off her first-ever submission loss to Stephanie Egger back in February. Meanwhile, Stoliarenko is desperately searching for a victory now that the Lithuanian has lost three consecutive fights for the first time in her career.
