UFC Nashville is just a few days away and one fight that MMA fans can’t wait to see this weekend’s co-main event. The bout in question pits former women’s strawweight champion Jessica Andrade head-to-head with The Ultimate Fighter 23 winner Tatian Suarez.
This fight wasn’t originally intended to be the co-main event of the weekend. Suarez was originally supposed to face Virna Jandiroba until she pulled out due to a knee injury towards the end of June. Andrade now takes Jandiroba’s place and hopes to make the most out of this opportunity.

Andrade vs Suarez Fight Preview
With her opponent only having about six weeks to prepare for UFC Nashville, Suarez finds herself as the clear favorite this week. Her moneyline odds to win sit at -375 on Bovada, which carries an implied win probability of 78.9%.
Suarez has done nothing but make waves since winning TUF23. She’s won each of her first six UFC fights, which includes four victories by submission and one via TKIO.
It also isn’t like the 32-year-old has been facing nobodies. She was behind Viviane Pereira’s first-ever loss and has wins over notable names like Alexa Grasso and inaugural women’s strawweight champion Carla Esparza.
Suarez most recently made her return to the octagon in 2023 following a near-four-year hiatus. She didn’t look out of place whatsoever, submitting Montana De La Rosa with a guillotine choke in the second round to earn the ‘performance of the night’ bonus.
While Suarez’s career has been trending upward, Andrade has been heading in the wrong direction lately.
After a 20-6 start to her career, things began to unravel once Andrade lost the strawweight title to Zhang Weili in August 2019. “Bate Estaca” has since gone 4-5 in her last nine fights and was finished four times (three times via TKO, once via submission) over that stretch.
Andrade’s luck looked like it was changing with a three-bout winning streak during a 16-month span, but that’s since come to an end. She heads into UFC Nashville following back-to-back losses to Erin Blanchfield (via submission) and Yan Xiaonan (via first-round KO).
Now, Andrade has to deal with an uphill battle this weekend. For starters, Suarez has the physical advantage, standing four inches taller with a four-inch reach edge.
Secondly, Suarez has much better striking accuracy (66%) than Andrade (50%) and also absorbs fewer significant strikes per minute by a large margin (1.34 vs. 5.40).
On top of that, the undefeated favorite averages an absurd 6.12 takedowns per minute with 58% accuracy. While Andrade is no slouch in the grappling department, she’s outmatched in this regard and could have issues staying off the mat.

UFC Nashville: Andrade vs Suarez Betting Trends and Markets
Much like in the main event of the night, the Andrade vs. Suarez ML odds heavily favor one fighter over the other. While there isn’t a ton of value to be had unless you’re looking for an upset, Bovada has other betting options that might be more up your alley.
One thing to make note of is that Bovada isn’t expecting a long fight. The UFC Nashville co-main event is favored to not go the distance at -275 odds.
I’m not too surprised by these odds at all. Only two of Suarez’s last seven fights have gone the distance while nine of Andrade’s previous 11 bouts reached the round limit.
If there is a finish Saturday night, it’s most likely that Suarez will win by submission (+115). Four of her nine career victories came via submission, including three at the UFC level. Meanwhile, Andrade has been submitted thrice over the course of her career, including most recently back in February.
For those predicting an upset in Nashville, Andrade’s top method is to win by KO/TKO or DQ at +700 odds. While she has nine knockout wins to her name, it’s still important to remember that Suarez hasn’t lost yet and also possesses terrific striking defense.
If you’re trying to pinpoint when the fight will end, Bovada is favoring that it won’t happen in the opening frame (-190). At the same time, the sportsbook doesn’t see Andrade and Suarez making it out of the second round at -165 odds.
UFC Nashville: Andrade vs Suarez Fight Prediction
With the slide that Andrade is on, it’s a no-brainer to back Suarez to win at UFC Nashville. The undefeated phenom looked as good as ever following her hiatus and has the advantage over Andrade in pretty much every way possible. Don’t expect a close bout.
I’m also taking Suarez to win by submission (+115) as one of the better bets. Her grappling onslaught is second to none and will likely pounce on the fact that Andrade was last submitted six months ago.
If you’re looking to spice things up, I’m also comfortable taking Suarez winning by first-round submission (+600) due to how easily Andrade has been finished this year.
