Holloway vs Korean Zombie Fight Preview
It doesn’t take much work to see who oddsmakers are backing at UFC Singapore. BetOnline is firmly on Holloway’s side this weekend, favoring him at -725 odds on the moneyline, which carries an implied win probability of 87.9%.
Holloway is one of the most dangerous strikers that the UFC has ever seen, highlighted by a featherweight title run that saw him rack up three successful defenses. Although it’s been nearly four years since he last held gold, “Blessed” is still as dangerous as ever.
The 31-year-old veteran is 3-1 in his last four fights with victories over Calvin Kattar, Yair Rodriguez, and Arnold Allen. He’s also won four straight outings against foes who aren’t Alexander Volkanovski, leaving time to tell if that trend continues overseas.
Needless to say, Korean Zombie has a massive uphill battle on the way — especially judging by his recent history.
After a promising 3-0 start to his UFC career, Jung has fought back and forth to a 4-4 record in his last eight fights. He’s only won consecutive outings once during that stretch, highlighting his inability to capitalize on any momentum.
What’s alarming is that Korean Zombie — despite his toughness — has been knocked out three times in his previous eight fights. That includes when he most recently stepped into the octagon with Volkanovski in April 2022, losing via TKO in Round 4.
Jung must be ready to face another onslaught this weekend. Holloway averages a whopping 7.16 significant strikes per minute with 47% accuracy. While Korean Zombie has a 52% strike defense rate, it’s clear that he can’t absorb blows as easily as he once could.
Grappling-wise, Jung does have slightly better offensive numbers, however, Holloway’s 84% takedown defense should help him remain on his feet.
