UFC Vegas 76 Main Card and Odds (Odds via BetOnline as of Monday, June 26)
UFC Vegas 76 Main Event: Sean Strickland (-170) vs. Abus Magomedov (+145)
UFC Vegas 76 is headlined by a middleweight showdown between Sean Strickland (26-5) and Abus Magomedov (25-4-1). It’s a significant fight with ranking implications as Strickland enters as the UFC’s No. 7 middleweight while Magomedov hopes to finally crack the top 15.
Strickland returns to the middleweight division after making his light heavyweight debut at UFC Vegas 67, defeating Nassourdine Imavov by unanimous decision. The win was much-needed considering that the 32-year-old had lost back-to-back outings before that victory.
Meanwhile, this Saturday’s event marks Magomedov’s second-ever UFC fight. The always-tough Russian made his long-awaited debut back in September, knocking out Dustin Stoltzfus in 19 seconds.
Magomedov has now finished 20 of his 30 previous opponents, knocking out 14 while submitting six. It’ll be interesting to see if Strickland can avoid becoming the 21st opponent to be finished seeing as he hasn’t won a middleweight fight since February 2022.
UFC Vegas 76 Co-Main Event: Damir Ismagulov (-106) vs. Grant Dawson (-114)
This weekend’s co-main event is shaping up to be a close one between lightweights Damir Ismagulov (24-2) and Grant Dawson (19-1-1), who rank No. 12 and No. 15 in the division, respectively.
Ismagulov finds himself in unfamiliar territory after Arman Tsarukyan snapped his 14-fight winning streak (by unanimous decision) seven months ago. The 32-year-old Russian had gone 5-0 in the UFC before that loss, leaving time to tell if he can return to form.
On the other side, Dawson is on a 10-bout unbeaten run, going 9-0-1 over that stretch. He’s impressed with back-to-back wins in his last two outings, submitting both Jared Gordon and Mark Madsen to notch those victories.
Welterweight: Max Griffin (+205) vs. Michael Morales (-240)
One UFC Vegas 76 fight worth keeping an eye on is the welterweight clash between Max Griffin (19-9) and Michael Morales (14-0).
After a disappointing 3-6 start to his UFC run, Griffin has turned things around. The Santa Barbara native has four wins in his previous five outings, most recently fighting Tim Means to a split-decision win at UFC Vegas 63.
Morales, on the other hand, is doing everything he can to remain undefeated. He’s impressed MMA fans in back-to-back pay-per-view fights, knocking out Trevin Giles and Adam Fugitt in a six-month span last year.
Women’s Flyweight: Ariane Lipski (+195) vs. Melissa Gatto (-230)
Ariane Lipski (15-8) and Melissa Gatto (8-1-2) hope to break into the women’s flyweight rankings with a win at the Apex this weekend.
Lipski’s been stuck in a rut lately, going 2-3 in her last five fights with each loss coming via KO/TKO. Having said that, she did find success in her flyweight return back in March, overcoming J.J. Aldrich by unanimous decision.
Saturday night also gives Gatto a chance to prove herself. She had never been defeated ahead of her fight with Tracy Cortez at UFC 274 but wound up losing by unanimous decision. She had back-to-back knockout wins before that loss, making it interesting to see if she can prove that her first-ever defeat was a fluke.
Lightweight: Ismael Bonfim (+260) vs. Benoit Saint-Denis (-310)
The odds aren’t in Ismael Bonfim’s (19-3) favor ahead of his lightweight matchup with Benoit Saint-Denis (10-1, 1NC).
Having said that, it’s not like Bonfim doesn’t have any momentum behind him. The 12-year veteran hasn’t lost since July 2014, winning his last 13 fights in a row. He made his PPV debut at UFC 283, knocking out Terrance McKinney with a flying knee in the second round.
Still, Bonfim pulling off the upset won’t be easy. After failing to win his company debut, Saint-Denis has rebounded with back-to-back wins over Niklas Stolze (via submission) and Gabriel Miranda (via TKO).
Lightweight: Nursulton Ruziboev (+145) vs. Brunno Ferreira (-170)
The UFC Vegas 76 main card also features lightweight action between Nursulton Ruziboev (34-8-2, 2NC) and the undefeated Brunno Ferreira (10-0).
Hailing from Uzbekistan, Ruziboev is as tough as they come. He’s won eight straight fights ahead of his UFC debut, winning five times by submission and thrice by knockout.
Only time will tell if Ruziboev can be the first fighter to defeat Ferreira. It’ll be easier said than done, that’s for sure. After all, Ferreira has finished each of his 10 previous opponents (seven by KO/TKO, three by submission), which includes a first-round KO victory over Gregory Rodrigues at UFC 283.
UFC Vegas 76 Preliminary Card Odds
Welterweight: Kevin Lee (+165) vs. Rinat Fakhretdinov (-190)
Kevin Lee (19-7) makes his promotional return at UFC Vegas 76 when he goes head-to-head with the red-hot Rinat Fakhretdinov (20-1).
After getting released by the UFC in December 2021, Lee took on Diego Sanchez in a super lightweight fight (165 lbs) at Eagle FC 46, winning by unanimous decision. Meanwhile, Fakhretdinov is gunning for his 20th consecutive victory after having gone 2-0 in the UFC with back-to-back unanimous decision victories over Andreas Michailidis and Bryan Battle.
Featherweight: Joanderson Brito (-1250) vs. Westin Wilson (+850)
Oddsmakers view Joanderson Brito (14-3-1) as the lopsided favorite in his featherweight meeting with Westin Wilson (16-7).
Brito has made extremely quick work against his last two opponents, defeating both Andre Fili (by TKO) and Lucas Alexander (by submission) in the opening round. On the other side, Wilson makes his debut after submitting his previous three foes.
Women’s Featherweight: Yana Santos (+136) vs. Karol Rosa (-156)
The UFC Vegas 76 preliminary card also features a women’s featherweight fight between Yana Santos (14-7, 1NC) and Karol Rosa (16-5).
Santos has left her supporters wanting more lately, losing back-to-back fights for the first time in her career with losses to Irene Aldana and Holly Holm. The good news for her is that Rosa is also coming off a loss, falling to Norma Dumont by points in her featherweight debut.
Lightweight: Guram Kutateladze (-600) vs. Elves Brenner (+425)
Guram Kutateladze (12-3) hopes to return to prominence when he steps into the cage with Elves Brenner (14-3) on Saturday.
Kutateladze’s nine-fight winning streak came to an end just over a year ago, falling to Damir Ismagulov by split decision. Meanwhile, Brenner debuted with a split-decision win over Zubaira Tukhugov at UFC 284, extending his own win streak to three fights in a row.
Women’s Flyweight: Ivana Petrovic (+185) vs. Luana Carolina (-220)
Two flyweights looking to prove themselves at UFC Vegas 76 are Ivana Petrovic (6-0) and Luana Carolina (8-4).
Petrovic makes her debut with an undefeated record, having finished five of her previous six opponents (three by KO/TKO, two by submission). And while Carolina might be the favorite, recent history hasn’t been on her side as she heads to Las Vegas coming off consecutive losses for the first time in her career.
Heavyweight: Alexander Romanov (-135) vs. Blagoy Ivanov (+115)
Finally, the heavyweight showdown between Alexander Romanov (16-2) and Blagoy Ivanov (19-5, 1NC) is sure to be a hard-hitting contest.
Both fighters are in dire need of a victory. A knockout loss to Alexander Volkov in March handed Romanov his second straight defeat. Meanwhile, Ivanov is 1-3 in his last four bouts, most recently suffering a unanimous decision loss to Marcin Tybura at UFC Vegas 68.
