The 76ers hope to rebound following Tuesday’s 119-107 loss to the Golden State Warriors, marking an 0-4 start to their road trip. Meanwhile, the Jazz return home after suffering a 118-103 defeat at the hands of the New York Knicks earlier this week.
Even though both teams have struggled lately, their championship odds couldn’t be more different. Philadelphia currently holds the fifth-best odds (+1200) to win the 2023-24 NBA Finals while Utah is much further down the list at +50000 (T-21st), per Bovada’s NBA futures markets.
With each side dying for a win, let’s see who has the better chance at victory by diving into my 76ers vs. Jazz betting preview.

76ers vs Jazz Prediction & Pick (2/1): Will Injury-Plagued Philly Struggle?
The 76ers’ five-game road trip ends tonight and it’s safe to say that things haven’t gone as planned.
Philadelphia has lost each of the first four games on the trip, getting outscored by an average of 14 points per game. It doesn’t help that Nick Nurse’s team has struggled to score throughout this stretch, averaging 109.5 PPG while shooting 47.9% from the floor and 28.2% from the three-point line.
Even though the Jazz are coming off back-to-back losses, those defeats came on the road. Will Hardy’s team performs better at Delta Center where they’re 9-1 SU with a plus-15.5 average scoring margin in their last 10 home games.
Furthermore, Utah averages the third-most points at home this season. Although Philadelphia puts up the 10th-most road points, it’s been held to 107 or fewer in each of the last three games.
The Jazz have been quite the threat at home recently. Can the 76ers stop that trend from continuing?
Salt Lake City also hasn’t been the most welcome environment for Philadelphia. After all, the 76ers own an abysmal 3-15 SU record in their last 18 trips to Delta Center, having beaten the Jazz on the road just once since the start of the 2019-20 season.
Another obstacle in the Sixers’ way is their injury situation. Superstar center Joel Embiid has already been ruled out after injuring his knee against the Warriors on Tuesday. Additionally, De’Anthony Melton (back), Kenneth Lofton Jr. (personal), and Robert Covington (knee) are also ruled out while Marcus Morris Sr. (foot), Nicolas Batum (hamstring), and Tyrese Maxey (ankle) will be game-time decisions.
Meanwhile, the Jazz are completely healthy without a single injury designation.
For what it’s worth, the 76ers are 3-9 SU in their last 12 games without Embiid and 0-4 SU in the last four games that Maxey missed.
The 76ers are a much worse team when Joel Embiid isn’t in the lineup.
If the 76ers were completely healthy, I’d be picking them tonight. Having said that, they aren’t which is why we’re rolling with the Jazz. Utah has played extremely well at home lately and its consistent offense will likely be too much for Philadelphia’s banged-up roster to deal with.
On top of that, let’s take the Jazz to cover the 5-point spread, too. For starters, the Jazz are 14-6 ATS in their last 20 games while the 76ers are 1-5 ATS in their last six and 1-4 ATS in their last five on the road. Utah has also covered the spread in four of its last five meetings with Philly, which includes an 11-point victory back on Jan. 6.
With four of the 76ers’ top six scorers dealing with injuries, I’m confident that the Jazz can win by a couple of possessions.

Best 76ers vs Jazz NBA Prop Bet (2/1)
With Embiid missing tonight’s game, it’s a no-brainer to take the Over on Lauri Markkanen’s 8.5-rebound total as the best 76ers vs. Jazz player prop.
The Finnish big man is averaging 9.5 rebounds in his last 13 games, finishing with nine-plus 10 times. He also made good on this prop in each of his last five home games, averaging 10.0 RPG during that span. That’s without mentioning how he also hit the Over in his last two games against Philly.
Considering how he racked up 13 boards when these teams met last month, there’s no excuse for Markkanen not to record the Over again.
