The Timberwolves are set to play their second game in as many nights after Wednesday’s 124-117 win over the Detroit Pistons extended their winning streak to three games. The Grizzlies, meanwhile, aim for back-to-back wins following a 116-107 victory against the Golden State Warriors earlier this week, highlighted by Vince Williams Jr.’s team-high 24 points.
These teams are at opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to championship odds. While the Timberwolves are currently tied for the sixth-best 2023-24 NBA Finals odds (+1400) on Bovada, the Grizzlies are tied with two other teams for the 21st-best odds.
But which team will prove to be better in the present? Let’s explore this Grizzlies vs. Timberwolves betting preview to find out.

Grizzlies vs Timberwolves Prediction & Pick (1/18)
Tonight’s game is the third meeting between the Grizzlies and Timberwolves of the 2023-24 NBA season. Unfortunately for tonight’s visitors, the results of the first two encounters were the same as Minnesota picked up a 119-97 blowout win on Nov. 26 before earning a 127-103 victory on Dec. 8. Both wins occurred at FedExForum, for what it’s worth.
Now the scenery shifts to Target Center, where the Timberwolves have been rock solid so far. They’ve gone 16-2 SU (10-7-1 ATS) through 18 home games and have won nine of their last 10 outings in Minneapolis. When it comes to home stats, the T-wolves rank third in average scoring margin, sixth in field-goal percentage, sixth in three-point percentage, first in blocks, third in steals, and first in points allowed.
Despite how bad the Grizzlies have been this season, 11 of their 15 victories have come on the road. In fact, they’re on a three-game winning streak on the road ahead of this matchup, winning those contests by an average of 12.3 points.
Having said that, Memphis does average the ninth-fewest points with the 14th-worst average scoring margin on the road.
Do the Grizzlies have what it takes to hand the Timberwolves their third home loss of the 2023-24 season?
The Grizzlies’ injury situation will certainly be a hurdle to overcome. Ja Morant (shoulder) and Steven Adams (knee) are both out for the remainder of the season while Brandon Clarke (Achilles), Marcus Smart (finger), Desmond Bane (ankle), and Jake LaRavia (ankle) are sidelined for the next several weeks. Additionally, Derrick Rose (thigh) has been ruled out of Thursday’s contest.
It’s no secret at this point that the Grizzlies are a worse team without Morant in the lineup, proven by their going 6-3 SU when he plays this season compared to 9-22 SU when he misses time.
The Timberwolves are fortunate to have a healthy lineup tonight even after playing less than 24 hours ago. For what it’s worth, Minnesota is just 1-2 SU when playing a game with zero days of rest this season.
27 points and perfect from range.
that's just what KAT does. ?

The Timberwolves shouldn’t lose this game against a Grizzlies team that is plagued by injuries. There isn’t anyone active on Memphis’ active roster that can compare to the likes of Karl-Anthony Towns, Anthony Edwards, and Rudy Gobert, so look for Minnesota’s best players to make their impact felt as they route Taylor Jenkins’ team for the third time this season.
As far as the best bet goes, I could see Minnesota covering the 12.5-point spread. After all, the Timberwolves are a promising 4-1 ATS in their last five encounters with the Grizzlies, outscoring the latter by an average of 23 points in the two meetings this season alone. Considering how banged up Memphis is at the moment, I won’t be shocked if the visitors struggle to keep things close.

Best Grizzlies vs Timberwolves NBA Prop Bet (1/18)
Are you looking for a Grizzlies vs. Timberwolves player prop to bet on? You should consider taking the Over on Rudy Gobert’s 12.5-rebound total.
The French center has been dominating the glass (as usual) over the last few games, averaging 16.0 rebounds in his last five outings, hitting the Over in four of those contests. If that isn’t impressive enough, he finished with at least 16 rebounds in each of his last three games. The Over is also 5-4 in his last nine meetings with the Grizzlies, which includes a 20-rebound performance on Dec. 8.
With the Grizzlies owning the second-worst team FG% and allowing the fourth-most rebounds this season, Gobert won’t struggle to collect boards tonight.
