See Picks & Statistics For The GameThe Memphis Grizzlies couldn’t have started January any better, as they won their first nine games of the new year as part of an 11-game win streak.
But things are now trending in the other direction entering tonight’s road game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, who will be aiming to move above .500 and consign the Grizzlies to a winless five-game road trip.
Tonight’s matchup between Memphis (31-17, 11-14 away, 2nd in the Western Conference) and Minnesota (25-25, 16-10 home, 8th in the Western Conference) is set for 7:30 pm ET (6:30 pm local time), and it is the first of two games tonight that will be televised on NBA TV.
Both of these teams are 9-4 this month, but only one is likely to be happy about that.
Losses to the Lakers, Suns, Kings, and Warriors have brought a halt to the Grizzlies’ charge towards top spot in the West. But on the other side, Minnesota has gone from five games under .500 at the turn of the year to just 1.5 games out of fourth in the West.
Who will take the win tonight at the Target Center? Read on for our Grizzlies vs Timberwolves prediction, as well as our spread, moneyline, and player prop picks for the Memphis vs Minnesota matchup.

Can the Timberwolves Continue Their Success as a Home Dog?
For the season, the Timberwolves are just 23-27 ATS, but one area where they have been good to bettors is as a home underdog.
To date, Minnesota is 7-3 SU and ATS as a home dog, which includes a 109-101 win over Memphis as a three-point underdog on November 30.
SU & ATS Record Splits for Minnesota Timberwolves This Season
- Home Favorite: 9-7 SU & 6-10 ATS
- Home Underdog: 7-3 SU & ATS
- Away Favorite: 6-4 SU & 5-5 ATS
- Away Underdog: 3-11 SU & 5-9 ATS
This month, the Timberwolves are 9-4 ATS, and at home, they are 7-1 SU and 6-2 ATS. As an underdog this month, they are 5-1 SU and 6-0 ATS, so they have some sparkling records to uphold tonight.
Memphis Grizzlies vs Minnesota Timberwolves Prediction and Picks
Grizzlies vs Timberwolves Prediction: Timberwolves to win
Grizzlies vs Timberwolves Picks: Timberwolves +3 (Best Value: BetOnline) & Timberwolves ML (Best Value: BetOnline)
Is there any reason to be concerned about the Grizzlies? No more than any other team in the NBA.
The losses to the Lakers, Suns, and Warriors were all very close, while the lone game that wasn’t close, Monday’s 33-point loss to the Kings, came with Ja Morant absent. So, there’s no need to press the panic button, even if they lose tonight.
While I certainly have plenty of optimism when it comes to Memphis going forward, I don’t have a ton of optimism about them for tonight’s game.
As noted, the Timberwolves have done very well in this spot this season, which includes a win over the Grizzlies.
Desmond Bane missed that game due to injury, but his presence for this one doesn’t move the needle as far as feeling better about Memphis’s chances to take the win at the Target Center.
Memphis Grizzlies vs Minnesota Timberwolves Player Props
- Anthony Edwards over 27.5 points (Best Value: BetOnline)
- Anthony Edwards over 3.5 made threes (Best Value: BetUS & BetMGM)
Edwards has put up big numbers in his last three games, and I feel confident that he will keep that going tonight.
- vs Houston: 44 points (17 of 29 FG, 8 of 16 3PT, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, four assists, three steals, three blocks
- at Houston: 31 points (9 of 20 FG, 6 of 10 3PT, 7 of 9 FT), three rebounds, five assists, four steals
- at New Orleans: 37 points (12 of 25 FG, 4 of 10 3PT, 9 of 10 FT), six rebounds, five assists
