All eyes are on the Knicks to see if they can handle the Pacers and advance to the Eastern Conference Finals. They haven’t reached that round since the 1999-00 postseason, though, meaning they still have a lot to prove — especially with tonight’s showdown taking place at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

The results of this series have been consistent with the home team winning each game so far. The Knicks struggled to keep things close in Games 3 and 4, being outscored by an average of 18.5 points in back-to-back road losses to the Pacers.

Having said that, the defeats were hardly a new experience. The Knicks struggle more often than not when they face the Pacers on the road, having lost 15 of their last 20 trips to Indianapolis. In fact, New York has allowed an average of 125.3 PPG across the last four road games vs. Indiana.

Speaking of which, no one has been able to stop the Pacers at home lately. They’re heading into Game 6 on a 10-game winning streak at Gainbridge Fieldhouse and haven’t lost at home since March 18 — almost exactly two months.

New York’s injury situation affected them in the first two games played in Indiana and that could be the case again tonight. OG Anunoby — the Knicks’ best defender — will miss Game 6 due to his hamstring injury, joining Mitchell Robinson (ankle), Bojan Bogdanovic (foot/wrist), and Julus Randle (shoulder) on the sidelines.

The Pacers, meanwhile, don’t have any injury designations, which plays a role in my prediction that they’ll win tonight. Yes, momentum is on the Knicks’ side, but the Pacers have played well in the role of the home team throughout the postseason. It’d be far from surprising if these foes need a Game 7 to decide a victor.

But regardless of who wins, let’s take the Over on the 215.5-point total. Not only is the Over 14-6 in New York’s last 20 games, but it’s also 11-5 in Indiana’s 16 previous contests.

The first five games of this series have also averaged 225.6 points with three of those games finishing above tonight’s projected total. With the stakes as high as they’ve been, expect elevated efforts from both sides leading to a plethora of points.

Even though he scored 44 points in Game 5, I’m going with the Under on Jalen Brunson’s 34.5-point total (-126) for the best Knicks vs. Pacers Game 6 player prop.

As great as Brunson is, he’s still finished with the Under on this prop in three of the last four games in this series. In fact, the Under is a whopping 8-0 in eight career trips to Gainbridge Fieldhouse as the former 2018 second-rounder averaged 19.5 points on .457/.345/.737 shooting splits.

Considering how the Pacers held him to 26 and 18 points in Games 3 and 4, respectively, it’s clear that backing the Under is the better play when it comes to this prop.
