Knicks vs Warriors Prediction & NBA Picks Today (3/18): Can Dubs Sweep Season Series?

It’s the second and final Knicks-Warriors matchup of the 2023-24 season and the visitors are hoping this one ends differently than the first.

The two teams collided at Madison Square Garden on Feb. 29 as the Warriors walked out of the Big Apple with a 110-99 victory. The Knicks didn’t lead for a single second as Stephen Curry’s 31-point, 11-rebound double-double led Golden State to the win.

The lopsided loss wasn’t exactly a new experience for New York. The Knicks have had a hard time defeating the Warriors throughout the last decade or so, losing 14 of the last 18 matchups between these teams. Furthermore, New York is 5-15 SU across its last 20 road games against Golden State, most recently losing 111-101 in its last trip to Chase Center on Nov. 18, 2022.

The Warriors have emerged on top more often than not when they faced the Knicks over the last few years. 

Nevertheless, the Knicks enter tonight on a three-game winning streak and have won four of their last five. Their defense has been instrumental to that success, holding their last five opponents to 93 or fewer points — including holding two to under 80.

With that being said, shutting down the Warriors won’t be easy. Golden State averages the seventh-most points in the NBA and has scored triple-digit points in nine of their last 11 games.

The Knicks will also be shorthanded at Chase Center tonight. Julius Randle (shoulder) and Mitchell Robinson (ankle) are still sidelined while OG Anunoby (elbow) is questionable to suit up.

As for the Warriors, they’re, once again, in full health and looking to capitalize on their latest momentum. If Anonoby — New York’s best defender — can’t play tonight, Golden State could do some real damage at home.

Can the Knicks prevail despite missing key players like Julius Randle? 

The Knicks won’t go down easily, but the Warriors should win this game. On top of the home-court advantage, Golden State is healthy and when Steve Kerr’s team has all of its players, opponents better watch out. If New York’s defense doesn’t play up to par, this might not end pretty.

The Warriors already beat the Knicks by 11 points on the road, hence why I see them covering the spread, too. It also helps that the Warriors are 14-6 ATS in their last 20 games, whereas the Knicks only covered the spread five times in their 18 previous outings.

Considering how Stephen Curry & Co. are also 4-2 ATS across the last six meetings with the Knicks, it isn’t hard to imagine the Warriors winning by six or more points.

Best Knicks vs Warriors NBA Prop Bet (3/18)

Even though he’s coming off back-to-back 40-point efforts, I’m taking Jalen Brunson to record under 29.5 points for the best Knicks vs. Warriors prop bet.

Despite his impressive efforts, Brunson is “only” averaging 25.6 points across his last seven games, finishing with fewer than 29.5 five times. Additionally, Under is 9-1 in his last 10 meetings with the Knicks — a span where he averaged 17.3 PPG.

After the Warriors held him to 27 or fewer points in each of the last six meetings, I just don’t see Brunson having a 30-point performance tonight.
