See Picks & Statistics For The GameAnother new slate of 2022-23 NBA games is upon us on Friday, Nov. 11. The Western and Eastern Conferences will collide at 7 p.m. ET when the Denver Nuggets visit the Boston Celtics. With both teams among the hottest in the NBA at the moment, fans won’t want to miss the first Nuggets vs Celtics showdown of the season.
The Nuggets enter this contest riding a four-game winning streak. Three of those victories have come on the road, including a 112-119 win over the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday that saw Nikola Jokic record 24 points in only 21 minutes of action.
Meanwhile, the Celtics have also won four consecutive games. Their most recent victory came on Wednesday as they secured a 128-112 win against the Detroit Pistons. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown combined for 61 points on 21-of-39 shooting (53.8%) while Sam Hauser recorded 24 points in 32 minutes off the bench.
There’s a lot to take in before Friday’s Nuggets vs Celtics game. Fortunately, Betting News has gathered the game’s odds while also having a prediction and best bet for tonight’s contest.

Denver Nuggets vs Boston Celtics Prediction and Picks
Nuggets vs Celtics Prediction: Celtics 120, Nuggets 112
Nuggets vs Celtics Picks: Celtics -4.5 (Best Value: -110 at BetOnline) & Over 230 Points (Best Value: -110 at BetOnline)
This is a matchup between two potential NBA Championship contenders. Not only are both teams on four-game winning streaks with matching 8-3 records, but the Celtics are BetOnline Sportsbook’s +500 co-favorites to win this year’s championship, while the Nuggets are tied for the ninth-best odds at +2000.
Both sides are also among the best at scoring the ball. The Nuggets average the sixth-most points (116.7) this season, led by six different players averaging at least 11.7 PPG. At the top of the list is none other than Nikola Jokic, averaging 21.2 PPG while shooting 59.6% from the floor.
Meanwhile, the Celtics rank second with their 118.7 PPG clip. Both Tatum (31.2 PPG) and Brown (25.4 PPG) are having career years, showing no signs of slowing down. Even offseason acquisition Malcolm Brogdon has done well coming off the bench, averaging 21.5 points per 36 minutes.
One thing that the Celtics must do is take advantage of the opposition’s turnovers. The Nuggets cough up the ball 16.5 times per game (tied for fifth-most) and allow the eighth-most turnovers off points (19.6 PPG).
Boston also has the paint advantage. The Nuggets allow the fifth-most points in the paint (PITP) this season, boding well for the likes of Tatum, Al Horford and Grant Williams. On the other hand, the Celtics give up the 12th-fewest PITP, which should make Jokic’s life hard as the two-time MVP has been much less productive than last year.
This contest is also a meeting between two top-10 three-point shooting teams. While the Celtics average 15.9 threes (No. 1) and the Nuggets put up 13.3 (T-No. 9), Denver converts only a higher percentage of their attempts (42.0%, No. 1) compared to Boston (38.8%, No. 3).
Having said that, the Celtics are the better perimeter defenders. They allow the eighth-fewest threes per game at home compared to the Nuggets, who ninth-most threes on the road.
It’s also worth pointing out that the Nuggets have lost 10 of their last 12 trips to Boston, having not won at TD Garden since March 2019. The Celtics have even won three straight home games against Denver, outscoring the opposition by an average of 10.7 points over that stretch.
I see the Celtics continuing that success tonight in a high-scoring game. Having the better defense gives the home team the edge here, especially when you factor in Boston having the better paint and three-point presences.
I’ll take the Celtics covering the 4.5-point spread. They’re 5-1 ATS in their last six games against the Nuggets, beating them by at least five points in five of those outings.
I also recommend backing the over for this game. Again, this Nuggets vs Celtics showdown involves two of the best offenses in the league. I’d be shocked if they don’t combine for at least 231 points.
