See Picks & Statistics For The GameAs is often the case with the NBA schedule on Fridays, there are a number of interesting matchups to look forward to. One of those matchups is in Atlanta, where Trae Young and the Hawks will welcome Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets to town.
The Nuggets make the trip to the ATL with four straight wins to their name, with the last three coming by double digits. Most recently, they beat the Houston Rockets by 20 on Wednesday, their second win over the Rockets in three days.
The Hawks will be hoping to start a little run of their own tonight, after ending a three-game losing streak with a 125-108 win at Orlando on Wednesday.
Tonight’s matchup at State Farm Arena features two of the top dime-droppers in the NBA in Young, who ranks second in assists, and Jokic, who is directly behind in third.
Is that the direction we should look when it comes to player prop picks for this showdown? Read on for Nuggets vs Hawks player props, as well as our prediction for the matchup.

Will Young Continue His Double-Double Streak?
After not shooting all that well in the Hawks’ losses to the Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers, Young somewhat returned to form in Wednesday’s win over the Magic.
He was 12 of 23 from the field overall and scored 30 points, his eighth 30+ point game of the season. However, his struggles from the perimeter continued, as he was just 2 of 11 from three in the win.
So far this season, he is shooting just 30.3 percent from three, which would be a career low. It looked like things were on the way up after making four treys in consecutive games against Kings and Rockets recently, but he has since made four total (in 23 attempts, which comes out to 17.4 percent) across three games.
The Nuggets are in the middle of the pack when it comes to defending the three, ranking 15th in percentage, but I wouldn’t lump on him to go big tonight, as he has shot poorer at home (28.9 percent) than on the road (31.6 percent).
But he has been setting up others rather well, both recently and throughout the season thus far. With 14 assists against Orlando, he posted his third straight double-double and his 11th in 21 games this season.
Five of those double-doubles have come at home, where he is averaging 27.5 PPG and 10.3 APG in 10 games.
Is Jokic Good Value for a Triple-Double After Repeated Near Misses?
With Jamal Murray back in action after missing all of last season and solid contributions up and down the roster–including from Michael Porter Jr. (heel), who will miss his fifth straight game–Jokic hasn’t had to shoulder as much of a scoring load this season for the Nuggets to succeed.
But his stat line continues to be outrageous, as he is shooting 62.9 percent from the field and averaging 8.9 assists, both of which would be career highs.
In Wednesday’s win over the Rockets, he was 7 of 9 from the field and recorded 17 points, nine rebounds, and a dozen assists.
That marked the fifth time this season that Jokic, who has three triple-doubles thus far, has come up a point, rebound and/or an assist short of a triple-double.
Two other times he has come up either two rebounds or assists shy of a triple-double.
Four of his near misses have come in his last five games, so he is certainly building up to adding to his tally of triple-doubles in the near future. Will tonight be the night?
