After a winless five-game road trip, the Memphis Grizzlies are back home to close out January and open February, and the opposition couldn’t be much more favorable for a team in need of a streak-busting win, with the Indiana Pacers in town tonight and the Portland Trail Blazers visiting FedExForum on Wednesday.

First up, the Grizzlies (31-18, 20-3 home, 2nd in the Western Conference) will match up with the Pacers (24-27, 8-17 away, 9th in the Eastern Conference) today at 6:00 pm ET (5:00 pm CT).

Pitiful Pacers Set to Struggle Again on the Road

Much has been made of the Grizzlies’ confidence about their status in the Western Conference, but their 0-fer on the road against the Lakers, Suns, Kings, Warriors, and Timberwolves understandably elicited more than a few mocking comments on social media.

Fortunately, they are now back home and facing a team that’s in even more of a rut than they are. Indiana’s struggles without Tyrese Haliburton continued on Friday night with a 141-131 home loss to the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Pacers did quite well to trim a 33-point deficit to just seven, but it was yet another abject defensive showing, as they have given up at least 126 points in six of their last eight games.

Indiana very nearly managed to cover against Milwaukee, but in the end, they dropped to 1-8 SU and 2-7 ATS in this current nine-game stretch without Haliburton.

In this nine-game stretch, the Pacers are 0-5 SU and ATS on the road, and since a 111-108 win at Miami on December 23, Indiana is 1-7 ATS in their eight-game road losing streak.

Those numbers should be music to Memphis’s ears, especially given how outstanding the Grizzlies have been at home this season. In addition to their 20-3 SU home record, the Grizzlies are 14-8-1 ATS at home.

In the first meeting against the Pacers, Morant had 23 points and 10 assists in just 25 minutes, and he comes into this matchup with back-to-back double-digit assist games.

That said, I still like it even at the available prices and even if it moves to 10.5 and given that he dropped ten times in a little over half of the game last time against Indiana, there’s some comfort in knowing that he won’t necessarily need to log heavy minutes for this bet to cash.
