For the Golden State Warriors, nothing less than a win tonight in Game 4 of their series with the Los Angeles Lakers (10:00 pm ET, TNT) will do.
If they can even things up tonight at Crypto.com Arena, the series will turn into a best-of-three from here, with Golden State having homecourt advantage. But a Lakers win will push the Dubs to the brink of becoming the fourth straight NBA champion to be booted from the following season’s playoffs before reaching the conference finals.

Will the Dubs Once Again Have an Answer for the Lakers?
After losing the opener of this series at the Chase Center, Golden State bounced back in a big way there in Game 2, throttling Los Angeles by 27 points.
Will we see them respond similarly after Saturday’s 127-97 loss in Game 3? For the season, the Warriors are 24-18 SU (57.1%) in games following a loss, which is ninth in the league.
But even though they won a couple of times on the road against the Sacramento Kings, their road numbers for the season make for a painful sight.
As a road underdog, Golden State is 3-19 SU (28th in the NBA) and 6-16-0 ATS (29th in the NBA), and they are a league-worst 13-32-0 ATS (28.9%) overall on the road this season.
Records only count for so much when we know what the Warriors can do when they are playing at or near their best. Their Game 2 win was an example was that, but can they produce a repeat performance tonight?
For what it’s worth, the Lakers have been more solid than spectacular in the scenarios they are looking to navigate tonight.
As a home favorite, the Lakers are just 18-9 SU and 14-13-0 ATS this season. In the playoffs, however, they are 5-0 SU and 4-1-0 ATS as a home favorite, only failing to cover against the Minnesota Timberwolves in their play-in win.

I know better than to write off the Warriors even after they were handed a serious shellacking in Game 3.
But I really like the Lakers to avoid a repeat of Game 2 and pick up a second straight win at home. NBA playoffs series odds are still a little cautious with L.A. and their chances to win this series and do more in the playoffs, but they won’t be after tonight’s game.
