Both teams were producing results ahead of the All-Star Break. After all, the Suns have won seven of their last nine games while the Mavericks are currently on a six-game winning streak. Only time will tell which trend continues once the dust settles.
In the meantime, let’s take a look at some of tonight’s more promising betting opportunities as we dive into my Suns vs. Mavericks predictions and best bets.

Suns vs Mavericks Prediction & NBA Pick Today (2/22): Expect Fewer Points Than Projected
Tonight’s game is the third and final Suns-Mavericks clash of the 2023-24 NBA campaign. It’s been an even season series thus far as Dallas notched a 128-114 win on Christmas Day before Phoenix got some revenge with a 132-109 victory one month later.
Following their latest effort, the Suns are now 13-7 SU across the last 20 matchups between these Western Conference teams. At the same, the battles have slowly shifted to the Mavericks’ favor with each of their seven wins coming within the last 11 meetings.
The Mavs look to extend those winning ways by capitalizing on the momentum they grew before the All-Star Break. As mentioned before, Dallas has won six games in a row, averaging 122.2 PPG while outscoring opponents by a 14.7-point average. Strong defensive play has been paramount to that success, proven by the Mavericks holding five of those foes to 108 or fewer points.
Do the Mavericks have what it takes to earn a seventh consecutive win tonight?
The Suns are playing some of their best basketball at the moment, too. They’re 7-2 SU with a plus-10.0 average scoring margin in their last nine outings, holding their opponents to a 113.9 PPG clip. They’ve also found some success away from home, emerging victorious in seven of their last 11 road matchups. Additionally, Phoenix has won back-to-back trips to American Airlines Center, outscoring Dallas 262-235 on aggregate.
The Suns have also covered the spread in 11 of their last 16 road games against the Mavericks, however, it’s been the latter who’s 6-2 ATS in the last eight showdowns between these squads.
Nevertheless, one obstacle in the Suns’ way tonight is Bradley Beal, who’s questionable with a hamstring and nose injuries. Phoenix is a better team when the veteran sharpshooter is in the line, proven by their 4-7 SU record across the last 11 games that he’s missed.
As for the Mavericks, only Dante Exum (knee) has been ruled out while Luka Doncic (nose), Maxi Kleber (toe), and Dereck Lively II (nose) are probable to suit up.
The Suns could be in trouble if Bradley Beal doesn’t play tonight.
Both teams have been playing well lately, but I’m siding with the Mavericks to win. Dallas is looking like one of the best teams at the moment and has been playing extremely well at home lately. Phoenix will put up a fight and keep things close, but Beal’s health could be the deciding factor here. I won’t be surprised if the Suns pull off an upset, but I’m fully expecting the Mavs to emerge victorious.
As for the best bet, I like the Under on the 244.5-point total. The Under is 11-5 in Phoenix’s last 16 games as well as 6-2 in Dallas’ previous eight. That’s without even getting into how the Under is 8-3 in the last 11 Suns-Mavericks clashes, seeing an average of 217.9 PPG.
Considering how only one of those aforementioned tilts surpassed 244.5 points, it’s clear why taking the Under is the way to go.

Best Suns vs Mavericks NBA Prop Bet (2/22)
If you’re in the market for a Suns vs. Mavericks player prop, consider taking the Over on Kevin Durant’s 6.5-rebound total.

Durant has been a consistent rebounder throughout his career and this season is no different, averaging 6.6 rebounds per contest. He’s been even more effective on the glass lately, averaging 9.0 boards over his last five games while finishing with the Over on this prop four times. For reference, he even hit double digits in three of those contests.
Durant has also finished with the Over in three straight meetings against the Mavericks, who are allowing the second-most rebounds in the NBA. In other words, expect another big night from the 14-time All-Star.
