The Timberwolves and Clippers have already clashed three times this season, resulting in a pair of victories for the former. Having said that, while the Clippers won the last meeting back on March 3, the Timberwolves won the sole clash at crypto.com Arena thus far, notching a 121-100 victory on Feb. 12.

The Timberwolves have now won four of their last five meetings against the Clippers, outscoring the competition by an average of 8.8 points. Making matters worse is the fact that LA is 1-3 with a minus-8.7 average scoring margin in its last four home games against Minnesota.

Unfortunately, the T-wolves aren’t playing their best basketball at the moment. Chris Finch’s team has dropped four of its last six games while averaging 108.8 points (compared to 113.1 PPG this season) on .448/.326/.794 shooting splits.

Minnesota’s offensive struggles could continue for as long as Karl-Anthony Towns (knee) is sidelined. It doesn’t help that Kyle Anderson (shoulder), Rudy Gobert (hamstring), Anthony Edwards (shoulder), and Monte Morris (hamstring) are all questionable to play tonight.

The Timberwolves’ injury situation could make it difficult for them to win tonight. 

While the Clippers’ injury list is smaller, it features their two most important players. Kawhi Leonard (groin) and Paul George (knee) are both expected to be game-time decisions this evening after missing Sunday’s loss to the Bucks.

Nevertheless, the Clippers do have trends going for them. For instance, they’re 12-6 SU in their last 18 games in March as well as 5-1 SU in their last six outings on a Tuesday.

The Timberwolves, meanwhile, are 2-6 SU in their last eight March games. They also struggled against the spread, going 0-6 ATS across their last six Western Conference matchups on top of playing to a 1-7 ATS record in their last eight overall outings.

Furthermore, Minnesota only has a 46.2% success rate at covering the spread as the road underdog whereas LA has covered in 55.2% of home games when the odds are in its favor.

Do the Clippers have what it takes to cover the spread at home for the 17th time this season?

Assuming that Leonard and George suit up, I like the Clippers’ chances of winning this game. LA hasn’t been perfect lately, but it did keep things (relatively) close against a solid Bucks team despite missing its two best players. The Timberwolves’ offense just isn’t clicking at the moment, making them tougher to trust in enemy territory. The Clippers should win this one.

I’ll also take the Clippers on the spread in this game. Again, the Timberwolves are an abysmal 1-7 ATS in their last eight outings and have lost back-to-back road games by nine-plus points. I just don’t see the visitors keeping things close.

Best Timberwolves vs Clippers NBA Prop Bet (3/12)

There are a few Timberwolves vs. Clippers player props that stand out, including the Over on Rudy Gobert’s 15.5-rebound total.

As usual, Gobert has been a rebounding machine over the last few weeks, averaging 15.4 boards across his last eight games. Even though that number is slightly below tonight’s projection, the 31-year-old big man still recorded the Over in six of those contests — including 17 rebounds in his most recent outing.

The Over is also 6-3 in Gobert’s last nine meetings with the Clippers, tallying 16 or more rebounds in two of the three encounters this season. Considering how LA surrenders the 10th-most rebounds to centers, expect another large total for the veteran tonight.
