The Washington Wizards travel to Utah to take on the surging Jazz in an East vs West Thursday Night showdown.

The Jazz are jazzin’

The Jazz have been playing great basketball to start the season, sitting 8th to start in the West and are looking like they could be a contender all season long.

Even though they lost Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert in the offseason, Joardan Clarkson and Lauri Markkanen have been fantastic.

Especially Markkanen, who has been averaging 22.8 pts per game and over 8 rebounds a game and has taken the next step in this Jazz offense.

He is also shooting incredibly from 3 but more on that later so keep reading.

Coming back from an East coast road trip, the Jazz are back at home and are looking to bury the Wizards, who are struggling.

The Wizards looking for Magic

The Wiz have been not great the past 2 weeks, losing 8 of their last 9 and can’t catch a break.

Kristaps Porzingis is questionable for this game and while Kyle Kuzma has been great, I could see the Wizards struggling to guard the Jazz and keep pace in this game.

In one of two games in the NBA late tonight, can the Wizards keep it close against the Jazz in Utah?

I love the Jazz in this spot.

Coming back home, playing really good basketball, the Jazz should come out hot in this one and give the Wizards all they can handle and more.

I am riding with the hot hand in Markkanen and Clarkson to get the job done and cover the spread against the struggling Wiz.

Lauri has been fantastic to start the season and has been on absolute tear scoring the basketball.

He has 23+ pts in 3 of his last 4 games and has 30+ in 2 of those as well.

He has been playing really aggressively, getting the hoop and getting to the line.

He has also been shooting lights out from 3, hitting 3+ 3’s in 8 of his last 10.

I like his 3’s as a prop as well and we talked about on the Morning Coffee show, which you can watch here!

It is a bit juiced at -180 to play his 3’s straight, but I love his points as a straight play.
