It is Super Bowl Sunday, the biggest date on the calendar for betting even though the non-NFL options are kind of quiet. Super quick my picks are KC -3 and the over. I think we are going to get one of the most entertaining big games we have ever had.
Looking at the college hoops schedule it is pretty light. We do have a couple of Top Ten teams in action with Iowa looking for revenge and Indiana and Villanova looking to get back on track. Also, if you are looking for a midafternoon distraction, Boise State vs Nevada should be a fun one.
Here’s a look at some game to back today…

Iowa vs. Indiana
- TV: FOX, 12:00 PM ET
- Spread: Iowa -3.5, (-114), Indiana +3.5 (-106)
- Total: Over 151.5 (-114), Under 151.5 (-106)
- Money Line: Iowa -178, Indiana +148
This is a rematch from a game a couple of weeks ago where Indiana upset Iowa on the road. That loss has been part of a recent stretch of losses for the Hawkeyes which feels more like a lull than a total collapse to me, they are just too good for that. They still have one of the best offensive in the nation and that is going to give them a great chance in most games. The defense has been leaky though, against Indiana, and other recent opponents who beat them, all those opponents were scoring in the 80s. That does not give them much margin for error. I still like Iowa in this spot though. It opened at -2.5 though so don’t wait too long.
Betting Advice: Take Iowa.
Georgetown vs Villanova
- TV: NA, 2:30 pm ET
- Spread: Georgetown +13.5 (-110), Villanova -13.5 (-110)
- Total: Over 144.5 (-110), Under 144.5 (-110)
- Money Line: Georgetown +870, Villanova-1500
The Hoyas do not seem like a threat to Villanova but they have won their last two, most recently beating a good Creighton team. Villanova is off just their second loss of the season, a surprising stumble at St. John’s. They were -9 in that one and at home, they are going to need to cover by an even larger margin here. I am not loving the spot against a Georgetown team that is playing its best ball of the season right now. Georgetown does not get a second upset but they can keep this one respectable.
Betting Advice: Take Georgetown.
Boise State vs Nevada
- TV: FS1, 4:00 PM ET
- Spread: Boise State -4.5 (-118), Nevada +4.5 (-104)
- Total: Over 144.5 (-108), under 144.5 (-112)
- Money Line: Boise State -225, Nevada +188
Boise State is looking to keep pace with Utah State at the top of the Mountain West standings and Nevada is still solid at 8-5 and fifth place in the MWC. This game is good enough to bring you right to kickoff. Due to classic COVID-19 scheduling these teams just met in Nevada on Friday. The Wolf Pack took that one, winning by just a bucket as +4.5 point underdogs. Interesting move in not moving the line a bit for the rematch on Sunday. I feel like that is baiting you to take the home side but I am not biting. Last week they lost game one at Colorado State and then came back to win game two. In fact, in the three previous times that they have played a team back to back they won all three game twos.
Betting Advice: Take Boise State.
Cal vs. Stanford
- TV: Fs1, 10:00 PM ET
- Spread: Cal +10.5 (-114) , Stanford -10.5 (-106)
- Total: Over 131.5 (-114), Under 131.5 (-106)
- Money Line: Cal +490, Stanford -670
Cal is the worst team in the PAC 12 this season. The program is at a level it hasn’t been in some time. These teams just met during the week and Stanford got an easy win, 70-55. For the second consecutive game, the Bears could not muster even 60 points and that has been their problem all season, lack of scoring. Stanford is no juggernaut. They are in the middle of the league and winning the games they are supposed to. They have been hit by injuries and absences throughout the season which has not helped. Fully healthy they could be relevant but that is not the case. They do feel reliable for this one though.
Betting Advice: Take Stanford.
