After disappointing road losses last weekend, Iowa and Michigan State will look to get back in the win column tonight as the Hawkeyes (12-7, 4-4 Big Ten) and Spartans (13-7, 5-4 Big Ten) meet in East Lansing.
Tonight’s matchup at the Breslin Center is set for 7:00 pm ET, and it will be televised by FS1.
On Saturday, Iowa’s four-game win streak came to an end at Ohio State, who lit up the Hawkeyes for 93 points in a 16-point win.
Things weren’t any more pleasant for the Spartans on Sunday at Indiana, who rode Trayce Jackson-Davis’s 31 points and 15 rebounds to an 82-69 win in Bloomington.
Which team will pick up an important win tonight? Read on for our Iowa vs Michigan State prediction, as well as our betting picks and analysis for tonight’s matchup in East Lansing.

Can Iowa Punish Michigan State from the Perimeter?
Iowa had a pretty rough game defensively at Ohio State, as they allowed a season high in points. The Buckeyes shot 56.3% (36 of 64) from the field overall, including 8 of 16 (50%) from three, with fantastic freshman Brice Sensabaugh going for a season-high 27 points (10 of 12 FG, 4 of 5 3PT, 3 of 3 FT).
But while the Hawkeyes weren’t able to keep up offensively and didn’t even reach their season average in scoring, it wasn’t all bad.
In the loss in Columbus, the Hawkeyes made 11 of 24 (45.8%) from three, which marked the eighth time this season that they have hit 10+ threes in a game.
It was also Iowa’s fourth straight game shooting 40% or better from outside, and in that stretch, the Hawkeyes are shooting 43.2% (41 of 95) from outside.

I don’t think there’s a lot to read into Michigan State’s loss at Indiana. The Hoosiers are better at home than on the road, just as the Spartans are.
Also, Tyson Walker, the team’s leading scorer, had been hit with a stomach virus a couple of days before the game in Bloomington and wasn’t close to 100 percent.
There’s every chance that they bounce back tonight and get the win at home, especially if Walker is closer to full health.
But with the way that Iowa has been shooting from outside lately, I actually like the Hawkeyes to come away with their fourth straight win over the Spartans.
