We couldn’t have the college football week go by without a major upset, could we? A week after being the victim of an upset themselves, Baylor turned the tables on Oklahoma. Now we can stop talking about the Sooners’ CFP hopes and about Caleb Williams as a potential Heisman winner or finalist.
What lies ahead for this week? Many eyes might already be on next week. But before they meet in Ann Arbor, Ohio State and Michigan both have to navigate this week. So do Oklahoma and Oklahoma State, who could meet in back-to-back weeks if things shake out the right way. There are a number of pivotal matchups taking place around the country over the coming days, with two standing out well above the others.
In Columbus, Ohio State will take on Michigan State. The winner will have one hand on the Big Ten East Division title and CFP hopes still intact, and it should also have some implications on an individual level. In the Pac-12, Utah and Oregon meet for what could be the first of two matchups. The three-loss Utes can’t get into the CFP, but they can ruin Oregon’s chances either this week or in a few weeks. In the ACC, Clemson’s run of dominance in the ACC could officially come to an end as they host Wake Forest. Will the Tigers step up to keep the Atlantic Division title race alive for one more week?
Let’s take a look at this week’s college football schedule and betting odds for our favorite matchups on the schedule.

American Athletic Conference
The big game in the AAC this week is in Cincinnati, as SMU travels there to take on the CFP-chasing Bearcats. Close losses at Houston and Memphis have SMU on the outside looking in for the conference title game, and this game is not what it was on its way to being when the Mustangs were 7-0.
But SMU can play spoiler in a major way if Tanner Mordecai and the Mustangs can find a way past the Bearcats. Can they?
Friday, November 19
Memphis (5-5, 2-4 AAC) vs Houston (9-1, 7-0 AAC), ESPN2, 9:00 p.m. ET
Saturday, November 20
South Florida (2-8, 1-5 AAC) vs Tulane (1-9, 0-6 AAC), ESPN+, 12:00 p.m. ET
SMU (8-2, 4-2 AAC) vs Cincinnati (10-0, 6-0 AAC), ESPN, 3:30 p.m. ET
East Carolina (6-4, 4-2 AAC) vs Navy (2-7, 2-4 AAC), CBS Sports Network, 3:30 p.m. ET
Temple (3-7, 1-5 AAC) vs Tulsa (4-6, 3-3 AAC), ESPN+, 4:00 p.m. ET
ACC
The ACC Championship Game matchup could be solidified this week if Wake Forest and Pittsburgh both win their games. It remains to be seen if we will get to see two of the nation’s most prolific quarterbacks face off in Pittsburgh. Virginia’s Brennan Armstrong missed the Notre Dame game due to a rib injury, and his status remains up in the air.
It might end up being a little late for Clemson in their hopes to extend their ACC title streak, but could Wake Forest’s porous defense be the cure for what ails Clemson on offense?
Thursday, November 18
Louisville (5-5, 3-4 ACC) vs Duke (3-7, 0-6 ACC), ESPN, 7:30 p.m. ET
Saturday, November 20
Wake Forest (9-1, 6-0 ACC) vs Clemson (7-3, 5-2 ACC), ESPN, 12:00 p.m. ET

Virginia (6-4, 4-2 ACC) vs Pittsburgh (8-2, 5-1 ACC), ESPN2, 3:30 p.m. ET
Syracuse (5-5, 2-4 ACC) vs North Carolina State (7-3, 4-2 ACC), ACC Network, 4:00 p.m. ET
Virginia Tech (5-5, 3-3 ACC) vs Miami (5-5, 3-3 ACC), ACC Network, 7:30 p.m. ET
Big 12
Baylor’s win over Oklahoma brought the Bears back into the Big 12 title picture and knocked the Sooners out of the CFP picture. Will the Bears still be in the mix after their tough trip to Manhattan? Kansas State has won four straight and has tightened up on defense since opening conference play with back-to-back-to-back losses to Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, and Iowa State.
Speaking of the Sooners, will the wind be knocked out of their sails after Saturday’s loss to Baylor? Iowa State is wounded as well, as a last-second loss at Texas Tech all but ended their remaining Big 12 title hopes.
Saturday, November 20
Iowa State (6-4, 4-3 Big 12) vs Oklahoma (9-1, 6-1 Big 12), FOX, 12:00 p.m. ET
Texas (4-6, 2-5 Big 12) vs West Virginia (4-6, 2-5 Big 12), ESPN2, 12:00 p.m. ET
Kansas (2-8, 1-6 Big 12) vs TCU (4-6, 2-5 Big 12), Big 12 Now on ESPN+, 4:00 p.m. ET
Baylor (8-2, 5-2 Big 12) vs Kansas State (7-3, 4-3 Big 12), Fox Sports 1, 5:30 p.m. ET
Oklahoma State (9-1, 6-1 Big 12) vs Texas Tech (6-4, 3-4 Big 12), 8:00 p.m. ET
Big Ten
Ohio State responded to a substandard performance at Nebraska in the most resounding way possible by blowing out upset-minded Purdue in a 59-31 win. Now the two biggest games of the season are ahead for the Buckeyes. Win both, and they will be one step away from another College Football Playoff berth. First up is their meeting with Michigan State, who rebounded from their loss to Purdue with an easy win over Maryland.
Saturday’s showdown in Columbus could also very well be decisive for the Heisman race. Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud is the new Heisman betting favorite at BetOnline Sportsbook, while Michigan State’s Kenneth Walker III is third, with Alabama’s Bryce Young sandwiched in between.
Saturday, November 20
Michigan State (9-1, 6-1 Big Ten) vs Ohio State (9-1, 7-0 Big Ten), ABC, 12:00 p.m. ET
Purdue (6-4, 4-3 Big Ten) vs Northwestern (3-7, 1-6 Big Ten), 12:00 p.m. ET
Rutgers (5-5, 2-5 Big Ten) vs Penn State (6-4, 3-4 Big Ten), Big Ten Network, 12:00 p.m. ET
Illinois (4-6, 3-4 Big Ten) vs Iowa (8-2, 5-2 Big Ten), 2:00 p.m. ET
Michigan (9-1, 6-1 Big Ten) vs Maryland (5-5, 2-5 Big Ten), Big Ten Network, 3:30 p.m. ET
Nebraska (3-7, 1-6 Big Ten) vs Wisconsin (7-3, 5-2 Big Ten), ABC, 3:30 p.m. ET
Minnesota (6-4, 4-3 Big Ten) vs Indiana (2-8, 0-7 Big Ten), 3:30 p.m. ET
Conference USA
Can UAB put an end to UTSA’s undefeated run? The Roadrunners have captured national attention this season, but the Blazers have won the West Division each of the last three seasons (and two C-USA titles).
Friday, November 19
Southern Miss (1-9, 0-6 C-USA) vs Louisiana Tech (3-7, 2-4 C-USA), CBS Sports Network, 8:00 p.m. ET

Marshall (6-4, 4-2 C-USA) vs Charlotte (5-5, 3-3 C-USA), 3:30 p.m. ET
Old Dominion (4-6, 3-3 C-USA) vs Middle Tennessee (5-5, 3-3 C-USA), ESPN+, 3:30 p.m. ET

The first two weeks of November midweek MACtion have not disappointed. Should we expect more of the same this week?
Tuesday, November 16

Western Michigan (6-4, 3-3 MAC) vs Eastern Michigan (6-4, 3-3 MAC), ESPN2, 7:30 p.m. ET

Saturday, November 20
Kent State (5-5, 4-2 MAC) vs Akron (2-8, 1-5 MAC), ESPN+, 12:00 p.m. ET
Mountain West
Utah State and San Diego State are closing in on long-awaited returns to the Mountain West title game. The Aggies haven’t been since the inaugural game in 2013, while the Aztecs have not played for the title since clinching a repeat title triumph in 2016.
Friday, November 19

Colorado State (3-7, 2-4 Mountain West) vs Hawaii (4-7, 1-5 Mountain West), 11:00 p.m. ET
Pac-12
The game of the season in the Pac-12 is here. Can Oregon keep themselves in the frame for the CFP? Or will Utah prove that there is a reason why the most recent Pac-12 title odds were so tight despite Oregon’s much loftier position?
Friday, November 19
Arizona (1-9, 1-6 Pac-12) vs Washington State (5-5, 2-4 Pac-12), Pac-12 Network, 9:00 p.m. ET

Arizona State (7-3, 5-2 Pac-12) vs Oregon State (6-4, 4-3 Pasta), ESPN, 10:30 p.m. ET
SEC
Other than Arkansas-Alabama, the SEC schedule is light this week. The final weekend of the regular season brings a number of rivalry matchups in the SEC, so several teams have easy non-conference matchups on their schedule this week.
Can the Razorbacks test the Tide in Tuscaloosa? Arkansas squeaked by both Mississippi State and LSU but will need to be much, much better to have a chance to take down Alabama.
Saturday, November 20
Arkansas (7-3, 3-3 SEC) vs Alabama (9-1, 5-1 SEC), CBS, 3:30 p.m. ET
Florida (5-5, 2-5 SEC) vs Missouri (5-5, 2-4 SEC), SEC Network, 7:30 p.m. ET
Auburn (6-4, 4-3 SEC) vs South Carolina (5-5, 2-5 SEC), ESPN, 7:00 p.m. ET
Vanderbilt (2-8, 0-6 SEC) vs Ole Miss (8-2, 5-2 SEC), SEC Network, 7:30 p.m. ET
Sun Belt
Coastal Carolina lost at home to Georgia State in its second straight game without injured QB Grayson McCall (shoulder), all but ending their Sun Belt title hopes. They have to hope for some help from Troy, who faces Appalachian State and Georgia State to end the season.
The most interesting game involving the conference this week isn’t a conference game. Louisiana, who is riding a nine-game win streak and will likely be in tomorrow’s CFP rankings, visits Liberty.
Saturday, November 20
Texas State (3-7, 2-4 Sun Belt) vs Coastal Carolina (8-2, 5-2 Pac-12), ESPN+, 1:00 p.m. ET
Arkansas State (2-8, 1-5 Sun Belt) vs Georgia State (5-5, 4-2 Sun Belt), ESPN3, Penn State
Appalachian State (8-2, 5-1 Sun Belt) vs Troy (5-5, 3-3 Sun Belt), ESPN+, 3:30 p.m. ET
FBS Independents & Non-Conference Matchups
As mentioned above, the most interesting game in this bunch is Liberty’s matchup with Louisiana. It’s the only game that isn’t a distinct mismatch.
Saturday, November 20
Charleston Southern (4-5) vs Georgia (10-0), ESPN+/SEC Network+, 12:00 p.m. ET
Prairie View A&M (7-2) vs Texas A&M (7-3), ESPN+/SEC Network+, 12:00 p.m. ET
