- Northwestern +11 (-115)
- Maryland -11 (-105)
- Over/Under 45.5
Slight Lean: Maryland -10.5 (-110) Bovada
Slight lean here with the Terps, even though I will staying off. I do trust them a lot more than I do Northwestern, who is coming off some bad showings. The Wildcats are coming off two straight losses, getting blown out by Indiana 41-24 and at Washington 24-5. There is not much to be excited about surrounding Northwestern football at the moment, and going on the road in this Big Ten matchup, I side with Maryland.
Both teams are looking for their first conference win of the season, but with Maryland coming off a bye week, I see them coming out with a little more fire. Ultimately, I will stay off and save my coin for Saturday, but the Terps should roll tonight against a very bad Northwestern offense. I also lean slightly with the under as well, as I don’t see the Wildcats contributing to the total at all.
UNLV vs Utah State Best Bets
Betting Odds
- UNLV -19 (-110)
- Utah State +19 (-110)
- Over/Under 66.5
Best Bets: Hajj-Malik Williams (UNLV) Over 79.5 Rushing Yards (-114) BetOnline
Utah State couldn’t stop a runny nose if they tried, and this kid is so good with his legs. Since taking over as QB1 for Matthew Sluka, Hajj-Malik Williams has been a stud for the UNLV. He lost a tough one last week against Syracuse, but this guy makes plays with his feet very often. He ran 12 times for 119 yards and a TD against Fresno State in his first start, and had 12 carries for 53 yards and a TD against Syracuse last week. This number is very high for a QB’s rushing prop, but Williams is more than capable of clearing it.
UNLV already has plenty of designed QB runs, and through 3 weeks of the season, Sluka was their leading rusher. Williams is now UNLV’s leading rusher this season in terms of carries and yards, and like I said, Utah State’s rushing defense is awful. They allow 6 yards per rush and over 240 rushing yards per game. Against Utah State, Evan Simon of Temple ran 11 times for 49 yards and a TD, leading the Owls on the ground. Other than that, they really haven’t played a mobile QB, but they don’t produce very many sacks, meaning Williams’ carries should only be for positive yards.
Don’t be scared of the number, have no fear that Hajj-Malik Williams clears this line tonight.
Utah vs Arizona State Best Bets
Betting Odds
- Utah -5.5 (-113)
- Arizona State +5.5 (-107)
- Over/Under 46.5
Best Bets: Arizona State TT Under 20.5 (-120) BetOnline
Shoutout to my good friend, Crutch, for bringing this to my attention, so we will be tailing him tonight. This Utah defense is good. Very good. They may be the best in the Big 12, and are probably a Top 5 unit in the country overall. Arizona State is not very good, and they haven’t really beaten anybody.
They took down Wyoming, woohoo. Then they beat Mississippi State, who I’m pretty sure doesn’t have an official offense this season. They barely beat Texas State, lost to Texas Tech, and then beat Kansas, which isn’t exactly a good win like we thought it might be. Bottom line, they stink. And against the best defense they will face all year, I do not see them having success.
They rely heavily on RB Cam Skattebo who is running for 123 yards per game and over 5.5 per rush. But he has not seen a rushing defense like the Utes. Utah ranks 43rd in the nation allowing 3.8 yards per rush, and 34th in rushing yards allowed, giving up barely over 100 per contest. Tonight, Arizona State will need to pass the ball in order to keep up, and I do not trust their offense to be able to do so against this defense. Give me Utah’s defense to have themselves a game tonight.
