When Iowa lost to Purdue their College Football Playoff chances crashed with it. They still have a great chance at the Big Ten West Division title though. If they can win this game they are still in a good position.

The Badgers can get themselves into the mix for the West Division title if they can win on Saturday. These are the two best teams in the West, and this should be a closely contested defensive battle.

This is one of the lowest totals I can recall seeing (36.5). It seems unfathomable, but for this matchup, it may actually be a little high.

Iowa was off last week, giving them some extra time to recover from their loss to Purdue. It's not that losing to the Boilermakers is terrible, it is the way they did and at home too. This team has been living on its defense but once the turnover situation got flipped they didn’t have a chance. You are not going to be very competitive when your quarterback throws 4 interceptions no matter how good your defense is. Iowa hopefully used this off week to find something that works offensively because Wisconsin will be the best defense they have faced this season.

The Badgers are not going to have the season they want but they are still capable of messing up everybody else's. They are similar in style of play to Iowa, just not as lucky I suppose. Wisconsin is second in the nation in yards allowed and first against the run. Their own offense is not nearly as good as it has been in the past but that stingy defense keeps them in the game. Wisconsin beat up the same Purdue team that dealt Iowa its only loss.

The question is just how fraudulent the Hawkeyes really are. The turnovers they were creating early were not sustainable but I did not see their QB falling apart against Purdue. If the Boilermakers defense could do that to Iowa then the Badgers definitely can too. My instinct was originally to take the points wth Iowa, especially with that hook but now I just can’t. It has taken a while but the Badergs are rounding into form and we get a nice payoff provided they can win by more than a field goal.
