Even a win over LSU won’t make up for what has been a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad season for Texas A&M. But ruining the Tigers’ hopes of sliding into the College Football Playoff would certainly help a sour season end on a sweet note.
LSU has already locked up the SEC West title and will face Georgia for the conference crown next Saturday in Atlanta.
But with two losses on their ledger already, the Tigers will only reach the CFP if they win their next two games. A loss to the Aggies would take them out of the running for the top four, even if they were to turn around and beat the Bulldogs next week.
But how likely is it that this Aggie team pulls off the upset? The odds are certainly against them, but you can find out below if the LSU vs Texas A&M prediction follows suit.

Can the Aggies Generate Enough Offense to Take Down the Tigers?
Last Saturday, Texas A&M snapped a six-game losing streak with a 20-3 win over lowly UMass.
A win is a win is a win, especially when they hadn’t won since beating Arkansas in their SEC opener on September 24.
But it was still pretty underwhelming given the opposition, who is 1-10 this season and had given up 35 points to Arkansas State the week prior.
Defense has kept the Aggies in a number of games this season, even if the numbers haven’t always shown it. And they produced another solid performance against the Minutemen, holding them to 168 yards and three points a week after they had put up 33 points and 475 yards against Arkansas State.
Again, the spotlight was on what the offense failed to do. A&M did pick up 404 yards offensively, but they turned the ball over three times in UMass territory, twice on big plays that had moved the ball into the red zone.
On top of that, kicker Randy Bond, who had missed two field goals in 12 attempts entering the game, missed kicks of 47 and 45 yards against the Minutemen.
A&M’s defense has the talent to limit LSU, but if the offense can’t put up points and gives the ball away multiple times, this game will go like a lot of others have this season.

LSU vs Texas A&M Prediction: LSU to win
LSU vs Texas A&M Picks: Texas A&M to cover (Best Value: +10.5 @ -110 at BetMGM) & LSU/Texas A&M under (Best Value: under 47.5 @ -110 at BetOnline & BetMGM)
Since being blown out by Tennessee at home last month, LSU has been one of the most impressive teams in the country.
But they did cut it really close in a 13-10 win at Arkansas two weeks ago, and if Texas A&M plays an inspired game, the Tigers could find themselves in some trouble.
Offensively, A&M will benefit from the return of star RB Devon Achane, who didn’t play at Auburn or against UMass, and leading receiver Evan Stewart, who didn’t play last week.
I haven’t read anything that indicates that coach Jimbo Fisher will avoid burning QB Connor Weigman’s redshirt, so if the freshman does start, having his top two receivers and his star RB–who also has 36 catches this season–can only help him with being at ease.
I do think that LSU will ultimately pull out the win, but I don’t think it will come easy. And while you, dear reader, are free to refrain from doing so, as a lover of chaos, I will sprinkle a bit on A&M ML.
