Best Bet: Old Dominion Moneyline (-128) BetOnline
It’s time for a classic letdown spot. The Georgia Southern Eagles are riding high after an incredible two weeks, with a 20-point comeback against Marshall and a two-touchdown victory over James Madison as ten-point underdogs. But their luck may be running out.
Now, they face a short week, traveling to Norfolk, Virginia, to take on Old Dominion, who is also coming off a big win as double-digit underdogs. The Monarchs boast a defense that allows under 25 points per game at home and has done a great job limiting passing yards, giving up just 210 yards per game on their turf. This could spell trouble for the Eagles, who heavily rely on their passing game.
Despite their recent success, Georgia Southern’s defense is questionable, allowing over 30 points per game. They’ve faced tough opponents like Boise State and Ole Miss this season, but despite their battle-tested schedule, their winning ways have to come to an end eventually—why not on the road with a short turnaround? I’m taking the Monarchs!
Syracuse vs #19 Pittsburgh Best Bets

- Syracuse +5.5 (-110)

Now, onto the play: we’re taking Panthers running back Desmond Reid to go over his rushing yards prop at 79.5. The junior has been impressive this season, rushing for nearly 500 yards in five games and averaging close to 100 yards per game. He’s had three standout performances, exceeding 120 yards against Kent State, Cincinnati, and Cal.
His only two games under 80 yards came against West Virginia, where he managed just 26 yards on 11 carries, and North Carolina, where he rushed for 55 yards but added 155 receiving yards on 11 catches. A true jack of all trades!
Quick side note: if his receiving yards prop becomes available, it could be worth a look. He’s gone over 50 yards in three of five games this season, and with Syracuse allowing almost 300 passing yards per game on the road, it might be a solid opportunity.
The Syracuse defense has struggled against the run, allowing opponents to average 150 rushing yards per game. A notable performance came in Week 1 when Ohio’s Anthony Tyus rushed for 203 yards. While some might say it was just Week 1 rust, Tyus hasn’t reached that mark since. Besides Holy Cross and NC State, every other team has topped 100 rushing yards against Syracuse, often through a committee approach.
This sets up a perfect opportunity for Reid to shine. Coming off a bye week, he should capitalize on a weaker defense. With Syracuse also struggling in pass defense, ranked 85th in passing yards allowed per game, the run game should open up nicely for Reid. Let’s see him thrive!
