See Picks & Statistics For The GameWeek 1 of the 2022 NFL season left football fans with many memorable moments. However, those are in the rearview mirror as Week 2 is set to begin in a few days. One of the games to look forward to is the Sunday Night Football tilt between two NFC North rivals as the Chicago Bears take on the Green Bay Packers.
Pegged as underdogs in Week 1, the Bears shocked a lot of people in their 19-10 victory over the San Francisco 49ers. It was a day filled with a soaked field and unfavorable conditions, however, quarterback Justin Fields led the charge, completing 8-of-17 passes for 121 yards and two touchdowns with an interception.
Meanwhile, the Packers just couldn’t get a win against the Minnesota Vikings. The offense was virtually invisible in the 23-7 loss, so Aaron Rodgers and co. must come out with a better effort to avoid going 0-2.
Betting News has gathered the latest Bears vs. Packers odds from BetOnline Sportsbook to help shed some light on the situation, along with a prediction and best bets for the NFL Week 2 game.

Chicago Bears vs. Green Bay Packers Prediction and Picks
Bears vs. Packers Prediction: Packers 24, Bears 17
Bears vs. Packers Picks: Bears +9.5 (Best Value: -106 at BetOnline) & Under 42.5 Points (Best Value: -110 at BetOnline)
The Bears are one of those teams that the Packers have just dominated over the last decade. Since 2012, Green Bay is a lopsided 17-3 in 20 meetings against its NFC North rival and has won each of the last six meetings since the start of the 2019 campaign.
In other words, it’s no surprise to see the Packers as -430 moneyline favorites here. That translates to an implied probability of 81.1%. Having said that, it’s a bit tough to trust Matt LaFleur’s team covering the 9.5-point spread after how poor the offense looked last week.
The Packers only generated 338 total yards of offense against the Vikings, averaging 5.5 yards on 61 plays. Rodgers looked awful under center, completing 22 passes for just 195 yards and an interception.
It certainly didn’t help the offensive line allowed him to be sacked four times over the course of the game.
Unfortunately, Green Bay’s offense is dealing with some injuries. Offensive linemen David Bakhtiari and Elgton Jenkins are both questionable for the Bears matchup. No. 1 wide receiver Allen Lazard is also questionable after missing Week 1 due to an ankle injury.
Even with these injuries, the Packers still have a better overall roster compared to the Bears. Chicago has one of the worst offensive units in the league on paper and while the defense plays with a lot of heart, it remains to be seen how it plays in more favorable weather conditions.
The Packers have owned the Bears in recent history and I don’t expect that trend to change. Keeping that in mind, I do think that the game will be closer than expected. With Green Bay’s injuries and Rodgers’ lack of chemistry with his wideouts, don’t expect a blowout win.
I’ll take the Bears cover the 9.5-point spread as one of the best bets due to the above reasons. I also recommend taking the under on the 42.5-point total. Though the rivals tend to combine for the over, last week’s performances don’t lead me to believe that’ll be the case in Week 2.
