We’ve already hit Week 3 of the 2022 NFL season and another slate of exciting matchups to anticipate. One of the highlights of the week is a collision between two AFC East rivals as the Buffalo Bills pay a visit to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
The Bills continued their dominance against the Tennessee Titans on Monday night, exiting with the one-sided 41-7 win. All-Pro wide receiver Stefon Diggs dazzled the hometown crowd in attendance, hailing in 12 balls for 148 yards and a trio of touchdowns.
The Dolphins were involved in one of the more exciting Week 2 games. Down 21 points in the fourth quarter, Mike McDaniel’s squad battled back for the 42-38 victory against the Baltimore Ravens. Wideouts Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill did most of the damage, combining for 22 receptions, 361 yards and four TDs.

Buffalo Bills vs Miami Dolphins Prediction and Picks
Bills vs Dolphins Prediction: Bills 42, Dolphins 28
Bills vs Dolphins Picks: Bills -6 (Best Value: -106 at BetOnline) & Over 52.5 Points (Best Value: -110 at BetOnline)
After the offensive displays that the Bills and Dolphins produced last week, fans should expect to see a potential shootout on Sunday. Besides, the total has hit the over in 10 of the last Buffalo-Miami matchups.
As mentioned before, the Bills have won seven straight games against the Dolphins. Buffalo hasn’t had any issue putting up points in those previous matchups, averaging 36.8 points over that stretch.
Even if the Dolphins made some offseason improvements, their defense was nearly non-existent last week, surrendering 38 points to the Ravens. Yes, Miami left Baltimore with the victory in the end, but that performance still proves that it could be a long day against a Buffalo team averaging 36 PPG this season.
Both of the Bills’ first two wins have been blowouts against solid teams. First, they absolutely destroyed the defending Super Bowl Champions, the Los Angeles Rams, before absolutely shutting down Derrick Henry and the Titans.
I do think the receiving duo of Hill and Waddle will give the Bills their biggest test of the year, but Buffalo has enough weapons of its own to battle back — especially if WR Gabriel Davis is healthy enough to play this week.
At the end of the day, I have too many questions about Miami’s defense to trust the unit. It couldn’t contain a mobile quarterback like Lamar Jackson and now they have another tough test against Bills gunslinger Josh Allen, who hasn’t lost to the Dolphins since December 2018.
I recommend taking the Bills on the spread here. While six points can be a lot for some teams to cover, Buffalo has won its last seven games by an average margin of 19.2, defeating Miami by at least seven points on six of those occasions.
Having said that, I’m also backing the over on the 52.5-point total. We’ve already seen what the Bills offense can do and with the Dolphins likely playing from behind, Tua Tagovailoa will throw the ball often, creating plenty of scoring chances in the process.
Regardless of who walks out the victor, fans and bettors alike should expect a thrilling game from these two AFC East rivals.
