Week 6 of the 2022 NFL season is here, leaving fans and bettors with no shortage of exciting games to anticipate. One matchup that many folks have circled is an AFC West showdown between the Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Chargers, which happens to serve as this week’s Monday Night Football game.
The Broncos gave fans very little to cheer about during last week’s 12-9 overtime loss to the Indianapolis Colts. Denver’s offense continued to look like a disaster, going 2-of-15 on third-down conversions while Russell Wilson also threw two interceptions in the loss.
Meanwhile, the Chargers look to build upon the momentum that comes from their 30-28 victory over the Cleveland Browns in Week 5. Running back Austin Ekeler did most of his team’s damages, tallying 199 total yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns on 20 touches.
Betting News has gathered the latest Broncos vs Chargers odds from BetOnline Sportsbook to help shed some light on the situation, along with a prediction and best bets for the NFL Week 6 game.

Denver Broncos vs Los Angeles Chargers Prediction and Picks
Broncos vs Chargers Prediction: Chargers 30, Broncos 17
Broncos vs Chargers Picks: Chargers -4.5 (Best Value: -115 at BetOnline) & Over 45.5 Points (Best Value: -110 at BetOnline)
The AFC West was expected to be a bloodbath this season. Instead, one can make the argument that the Kansas City Chiefs are the only team in the division to live up to expectations this season.
Having said that, the Chargers have gotten back on track over the last two weeks. It hasn’t been pretty, but Brandon Staley’s team has now won back-to-back games. The same can’t be said for the Broncos, who’ve lost two in a row now.
For Denver, its biggest problem has been a lack of offensive production. The Broncos only average 15.0 points (No. 31) and 1.2 touchdowns (T-No. 31) through five games thus far.
Meanwhile, the Chargers have averaged 24.4 points per game (No. 9) while generating a whopping 390.4 yards (No. 5). Even with the defensive struggles that Los Angeles has dealt with, the offense is more than talented enough to balance things out.
While Denver’s defense has shown promise at times, the unit did surrender 32 points to the Las Vegas Raiders just two weeks ago. Considering how explosive Justin Herbert and his weapons can be at times, the Chargers should be just fine.
It’s just hard to imagine the Broncos matching their opponent’s offense — especially with Wilson’s struggles. The veteran gunslinger has completed a career-worst 59.4% of his passes for 1,254 yards and four touchdowns to three interceptions, which isn’t exactly the version of Wilson that the Broncos assumed they were getting.
It’s also tougher for the Broncos to rely on their backfield now that Javonte Williams is out. The duo of Melvin Gordon and Mike Boone combined for 92 yards on 22 carries last week, but neither man provided much of an impact.
At the end of the day, the Broncos have done themselves no favors to get the benefit of the doubt here. They just don’t look like that good of a team or maybe Nathaniel Hackett isn’t the right guy to have behind the bench.
Besides, the Chargers have won their last two home games against the Broncos by a combined score of 53-29. Considering how the Broncos have also lost seven of their last eight road games in general, I like Los Angeles’ chances to score a win against its rival.
I’m also willing to back the total hitting the over on Monday. While the Chargers’ offense is world-class, their defense could use some work. The Broncos might be bad at scoring the ball, but they should still find some success against Los Angeles. Still, expect the Chargers to do most of the heavy lifting.
