The 2023 NFL season continues with an action-packed Week 13 slate that includes Sunday’s clash between the Denver Broncos and Houston Texans, live from NRG Stadium at 1 p.m. ET.
Few teams are as hot as the Broncos, who head into this matchup with momentum stemming from a five-game winning streak. Meanwhile, the Texans’ winning streak was halted at three games with last week’s 24-21 loss to the rival Jacksonville Jaguars.
Can either of these teams win Super Bowl LVIII? Bovada seems to view them both as long shots, listing Houston at +6500 odds (T-10th) and Denver at +8500 (T-14th) to hoist the Lombardi Trophy come February.

Broncos vs Texans Prediction & Best Bet: NFL Week 13 Betting
It’s hard to find many holes in the Broncos’ game on either side of the ball lately. During their five-game run, they’re scoring 23.4 PPG while only allowing 16.0 PPG, which is good for a respectable plus-7.4 average scoring margin.
It also helps that the Broncos have been relatively careful with that ball during that stretch, only turning it over three times.
What’s even more impressive is that none of those turnovers are Russell Wilson’s fault. The veteran gunslinger has turned back the clock during Denver’s run, completing 71.6% of passes for 894 yards and eight TDs without an interception.
The good news for Denver is that Houston’s defense hasn’t been the most consistent this year. The Texans not only allow the sixth-most passing yards per game but have also surrendered an average of 26.8 points to their last four opponents.
The Broncos’ defense, meanwhile, has held three of their last five opponents to 17 or fewer points. Even more impressive is the fact that Denver racked up a total of 16 takeaways during that stretch.
While the Texans have been relatively safe with the ball in 2023, it’s worth pointing out that they have coughed the ball up four times in their last three home games.
At the end of the day, the Broncos are my pick to win this game. The Texans are good, but the Broncos have beaten better teams lately, including the Buffalo Bills, Kansas City Chiefs, and Cleveland Browns. As long as Wilson continues playing mistake-free football, the win should belong to Denver.
With that in mind, backing the Broncos as +3.5 underdogs is the way to go. While Denver is 4-1 ATS in its last five games, Houston is 1-4 ATS during that stretch. In fact, the Broncos are 13-2 ATS in their last 15 games played in Week 13, whereas the Texans have only covered twice in their last eight games played in the 13th week of the campaign.
Even if the Texans pull off the win, I can’t see it being by more than a field goal.
