See Picks & Statistics For The GameWill we see a measure of revenge dished out on Sunday when the Kansas City Chiefs visit the Cincinnati Bengals?
The NFL Week 13 schedule features a number of notable matchups–Bills vs Patriots, Dolphins vs 49ers, Titans vs Eagles, Jets vs Vikings, Commanders vs Giants, just to name a few –but the standout matchup of the week is a rematch of last season’s AFC Championship Game.
That was one of two meetings between the two teams last season, both of which were won by the Bengals with big comebacks and walk-off field goals by Evan McPherson.
Heading into Sunday’s showdown at Paul Brown Stadium, both Kansas City and Cincinnati have been racking up the wins, with the Chiefs currently on a five-game win streak and the Bengals on a three-game win streak.
Whose streak will continue on Sunday? Keep reading for our Chiefs vs Bengals prediction and betting picks.

Will MVP Favorite Mahomes Keep Rolling?
In last season’s AFC title tilt, the Chiefs jumped out to a 21-3 lead in the first half, only to see the Bengals rally back for a stunning overtime win.
Cincinnati’s comeback was helped by a goal-line stand at the end of the first half to keep the score at 21-10 and a second half for Patrick Mahomes that was an absolute nightmare outside of one drive.
Mahomes went into this season with many thinking that he had fallen off, but he heads into this Sunday’s game having shown that the reports of his decline–and the decline of the Chiefs–were greatly exaggerated.
Entering Week 13, Mahomes leads the NFL in passing yards and touchdown passes, and he is sits atop the latest NFL MVP odds, ahead of Jalen Hurts and Tua Tagovailoa.
In Kansas City’s five-game win streak, he has thrown for 1,849 yards and 12 touchdowns, with four interceptions. He has also been active with his legs, tallying 161 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries (7.7 yards per carry).
The Bengals are second in the league in opponent completion percentage (59.0%), tied for third in touchdown passes allowed (10), and ninth in yards allowed per pass (6.8).
But after finishing just outside of the top ten in the league in sacks last season, they are tied for 28th this season (17). If they can’t get adequate pressure on Mahomes, it could be a long, long day.
Chase, Mixon to Make Timely Return for Bengals
Since losing to the rival Browns in Week 8, the Bengals have beaten the Panthers, Steelers, and Titans to pull even record wise with the Baltimore Ravens atop the AFC North.
They have been without star WR Ja’Marr Chase for the last four games, and starting RB Joe Mixon missed last Sunday’s 20-16 win at Tennessee after suffering a concussion against Pittsburgh.
Both Chase and Mixon are set to return to action against the Chiefs, a very timely boost for the Bengals ahead of a game that could very well be a shootout.
Against the Steelers and Titans, Tee Higgins came up big as Joe Burrow’s main target, catching nine passes (on 13 targets) for 148 yards against Pittsburgh and seven passes (on nine targets) for 114 yards and a touchdown against Tennessee.
But the offense will be better for Chase’s return, and the same can be said for Mixon, who hasn’t been outstanding this season after recording career highs in rushing yards (1,202) and rushing touchdowns (13) last season.
But he ran for 153 yards against Pittsburgh, and he has been more of an asset in the passing game than he has ever been, with 41 catches (on 53 targets) for 314 yards and two touchdowns in 10 games.
Kansas City Chiefs vs Cincinnati Bengals Prediction and Picks
Chiefs vs Bengals Prediction: Chiefs to win
Chiefs vs Bengals Picks: Chiefs ML (Best Value: -132 at BetOnline) & Chiefs/Bengals first half over (Best Value: over 25.5 @ -110 at Bovada Sportsbook)
Even though Chase and Mixon will be back for Cincinnati, I feel good about backing Kansas City with my Chiefs vs Bengals prediction.
Mahomes is playing at a high level right now, and I look for him to continue to do so to cap off what has already been a great week for him, as he and his wife welcomed their second child on Monday.
As for my Kansas City vs Cincinnati picks, with a small spread, backing the ML or buying points is the way to go, at least for me. I don’t see the need to unnecessarily test how well your antiperspirant works by taking a spread at -110 (or even -105 or so) over an ML in the -130 range.
And as much as I like this game to be a high-scoring affair, I’m backing the first half over instead of the full game over.
In last season’s head-to-head matchups, there were 45 first-half points and 20 second-half points in the regular season game and 31 first-half points and 20 second-half points in the AFC title game.
